You need a 2-1 roll to use participation points to move yourself around. Maybe you have an advantage stashed away that you are using? From reading a book with a lot of taggers?

Your advantage is based on the U.S. state where you currently live. Look up the year the state entered the union and sum the numbers in the year to calculate your move.

If you are international, let me know, and I'll select a state at random for you.

This advantage may be held for future use, but the state you use must be the state you live in on the date you got the advantage.

Now how do I do that?! I am reading only my 2nd book on Porter. Randomizer shook me back 3 spots to #3 last Sunday, which I already read because it was my first Porter roll. I thus will read #2 when I get through with #6 but stay on space #3. Counting back 6 takes me back to Clerk #97 - which I have not read. If I do that and get all books read, do I get 2 die to roll and hopefully once again droppling off the Clerk board a second time - though it could take more than 1 roll even with 2 die? Is my roll request and read under Clerk rules or Porter Rules? Is my Porter Board redone as new??

Take your time figuring it out. I have 2.5 books to read just with book clubandcurrent Subdue - over 1200 pages - before I am close to needing a roll again to move forward. My Porter Board only Tracks through last Sunday's Skake Up because I have not finished anything.

Lol, sorry this is so complicated.

- Please move back to #97 on Clerk (after you finish whatever else you have to do).
- Then you can roll two dice to hopefully roll back off of Clerk (and then request a subsequent roll to move forward on Porter)
- Stay with your current Porter board

If you land on a book you've read before, we do have rules to deal with that, so I'm not too worried on that front.

Let me know if I have missed anything critical!!

Thanks, Anita! I think I am clear but once I get to that point, if anything pops up I will post or pm.

I am lobbying now to get a special prize at year end for being the first (and possibly only though that position is too early to tell) player to be Shaken back to prior board and to Clerk too! At least Clerk doesn't have a uniform I have to change back into. I will just treat my return to Royal Coach as a lowly clerk as a spa visit, help myself to one of the kimonos in Wardrobe.

Actually this is my second Shake Me Up in a row --- I finally get into Porter and Randomizer just goes for me full out. Actually Randomizer has been hard on all who are still in the Porter level Caboose, boxing them in to the point where Tien has to read a book from her Clerk board even though she stays on her Porter gameboard spot.

When I get to the read that puts me back in Royal Coach as a Clerk, I am planning to demand and enjoy every single special advantage that gives - a spa day with facial, massage, mani pedis. Specially prepared meals by a rotation of my favorite celebrity and michelin starred chefs. A new kimono to wear while there and my Porter uniform sent out for cleaning and pressing. Advance screening of the upcoming new summer movies. CGI Tom and the Royal Coach staff will be kept very very busy while I'm there.

Anyone who is in the Royal Coach or within reach of it on any board might want to time your stay to overlap mine as everyone in there will benefit from my demands.

Everything on my boards is from TBR and I truly want to read. You are so right that many gems have surfaced, many highly rated too. I've actually read several that I was left wondering why I let it languish so long. In fact my current Subdue read is one of those - Where the Crawdads Sing

Subdue for me, like for most of us, really is about reading books we own or have on a list that we just need that kick to read rather than be distracted from it by something shiney. There is such added satisfaction to reading them and in many cases now recommending them to others. It's also providing shining light of easier reading when I'm finding the monthly tags less than exciting and all is colored by a very busy stressful day job.

But I did pout a bit yesterday....
