I don’t have a problem with the cover for Joyful Reunion, especially since they fixed the parts that were a little off about it. It isn’t one of my favorites and it certainly isn’t as beautiful as the covers for Dinghai Fusheng Records, but I think it’s still pretty good. The one for My Husband and I Sleep in a Coffin, on the other hand, is terrible. That one just seemed so rushed, especially considering how good the artist’s other work looks by comparison.

Talking about covers... Guys, do you know if the newer danmei novels published by Seven Seas are all coming out without French Flaps? Or are they keeping them for some?
I don’t know for sure, but I don’t think they are doing the French flaps anymore, sadly. All of the newer series that I’ve bought haven’t had the French flaps. I think they’re only doing them for series that already had them at this point.
That's actually sad cause they were so cool. I loved them!
I miss them too, I felt the books were sturdier with those :(
I know! I really liked them too. They really made the books seem higher quality and helped prevent the covers from peeling.
Every time I hear Creep by Radiohead on the radio all I can think of is the reel someone made of San Lang singing that song in a karaoke room with the other mxtx characters watching. 😂

Anybody else urgently reading Lord of (the) Mysteries Clown (Vol. #1) before the donghua comes out? I’m seriously in awe about the world building The plot is meandering a bit but I guess with such a long story it is not a surprise that it’s taking its time.
So excited I finally got the tracking info for the Guide on How to Fail at Online Dating Vol. 1!! Soooo ended up preordering the second volume 😂😂😂 probably a little early when I haven't even seen the first volume yet, but with the amount of times I've read this and I Can Do It I really should support the author more. Recently, I also ordered (through yiggybean) You're Too OP! and Global Examination Vol. 1 because I've heard such good things ^_^. Hopefully they hold up to the hype haha.
I just ordered vol 2 today too. Heh. I haven’t gotten any info on vol 1 yet but hopefully soon!
Oh no! Will admit I was kinda freaked out because it was my first Yiggybean order AND it is the first published by HaiTang. Seems like, HT was having some issues :/
The new publisher HT was a concern but not Yiggybean themselves since I've gotten things from them before. It might take 8+ months but I've still gotten it! Aloha Comics keeps pushing back release dates too. :/ What I also like about YB is that once you make a purchase from them via credit card that money stays kept! There is no we are just checking to make sure the moneys on your card and then not gonna charge until the items ships business. Crunchyroll does that. Drives me bonkers with pre-orders.
I was a little concerned -- but I always am when ordering from new places. ^_^Huh guess I've never thought about it before, but it is nice that they take it out entirely instead of flip-flopping.

YAY!! I'm so happy for you! I keep checking the tracking and it went from arriving on Monday to arriving... TOMORROW 😭😭😭. Please.... please let this be true. I wants it so badly hahaha.

Nah, I ordered from Yiggybean -- but it is my first order from them.
Same Yiggybean. Usually it comes in one of those perfect book boxes with a lid, taped all over, and stuffed with paper. I mean book wrapped and stuff stuffed. No movement if any.
Yes! Yiggybean always does an excellent job with packaging! I’ve never had anything from them arrive damaged at all.
Oh okay! I know how Yiggybean ships so I was interested in Nebelland's shipping, that's Haitang's primary distributor. Still, I'm happy you'll get your books soon!
OOhhh yeah no I did not order from the publishers website. I'm curious how that would have gone too.
Yeeeah, I thought about trying Nebelland, but their site is still so new, I wasn't sure I wanted to risk it yet. I'll give it a year and wait until they get rid of the "test" product page.

Since you're talking about shipping I got reminded I wanted to ask if anyone got any issues with AtomComics shipping? It was my first order and I got two damaged books out of four. It's not a big deal, one only has a wrinkled corner but the other has a noticable crease in the middle of the cover, which I'm not exactly happy about. But the whole package was very neatly done, so I was thinking if the book was maybe damaged before it was shipped?Anyway, just wondering if this is only my bad luck or anyone else had this problem?
That does not bode well if they are shipping already damaged products.... The order I placed through them keeps getting delayed. Stuff I have gotten from Crunchy Roll from them has been fine.

It's not a big d..."I got dozens of books from them this year and have not gotten even a single damaged one. My friends order from them too and the most damage they got was a bumped corner on one hardcover. You must've had incredibly bad luck with your order, it's not typical to get damaged books from them, but like from any store, this will inevitably happen from time to time, probably stuff they didn't notice while packing. Just contact them about the damage and see what options they give you.
@Katie, which order of yours is getting delayed? I'm curious because I only waited a long time for Via Lactea order because Via Lactea took a long time to ship, and then they were stuck at customs on their way from Canada. Nothing else ever got delayed and I've gotten orders very early most of the time. I never had any issues with my orders and so far it's the most reliable store I've tried. I also don't personally know anyone who would've had bad experiences with this store, you'd be the first.
I wouldn’t call it a bad experience. I don’t consider it one. It is a preorder. The release dates keeps getting delayed. Not shipping. Shrugs.
Oh well then it's not their fault if the publisher keeps delaying the release date. Which book is it?
I'm a bit worried about Haitang book orders from Nebelland because they stopped shipping to some regions without any prior notice, and they haven't shipped the already-placed-and-paid-for orders to customers from these removed regions.
My book arrived!! I’m so happy 🥹 it’s so pretty. Now the wait starts over for the next orders 😂.
Mine says Friday delivery but maybe I will get it before then!!

By now I’ve got three parcels from Atom Comics and all books were shrink-wrapped and even the parcel itself was wrapped in foil and sealed with tape. It must have been really bad luck. Best contact them and ask what happened.
Awe. I liked having the separate danmei site. You could see all the release dates and how many volumes each series would have. Though I think it might have confused others so maybe that’s why?

hi, everyone!!!!! i'm finally reading Golden Terrace because a friend lent me her copy and i'm going CRAZY! I wanted to buy the next volume myself but the publisher closed down and seven seas has "pre orders" idk if i trust. Anyone got any ideas of what to do? 😭

Just be very careful to make sure that you're getting an official copy if you decide to go that route. I've seen a lot of people get scammed with fake copies. I'd suggest asking someone who has official copies to give you pictures for comparison.
I think that probably your best be is to wait for Seven Seas to publish their version (they picked up the rights after PFH closed down). Obviously, you'll have to wait a while for that since its not supposed to come out until next year but at least you won't have to pay a fortune and you know that you'll be getting an official copy.
i imagined as much... i'd read some criticism of seven seas online (the way they handle pre-orders, translations, shipping to my corner of the world) bc i've only ever bought some ebooks from them, so i was still unsure if i should buy these as physical copies, but i think it's deffo my best bet. thank you so much for your comprehensive answer!!!!!! 🫶🫶🫶🫶
I’ve never had problems with Seven Seas personally, aside from them delaying their release dates fairly often, but then I live in the US. I’ve heard that Seven Seas isn’t nearly as accessible for people who live in other parts of the world. It probably also depends on the retailer that you are ordering through. I only really know about purchasing their books from the US though. Maybe try going on the danmei novels subreddit to ask other people in your area what their experience has been. I know there have also been a few people who have gotten lucky and been able to buy copies from fellow fans on various danmei groups. You could try posting on some of those (Reddit, facebook, etc) to see whether anyone is willing to sell their copies for a reasonable price.
Keep in mind that Seven Seas is doing a new translation for Golden Terrace, so if you want to continue with the translation by E. Danglars from Peach Flower House, you'll be disappointed if you buy the next volume from Seven Seas, it won't be the same translation. The Seven Seas translation will be by Suika, who translated MDZS that everyone complained about. This MDZS translation really wasn't very good. On the other hand, E. Danglars's translations are highly praised and for good reason.
I was just wondering about that! I didn't know they'd chosen Suika, but I loved Danglars's translation and was already familiar with her work from some of Priest's novels. Maybe I'll hold off the pre-order and either try scimitar's suggestions or see if my friend herself is willing to part with her copies. Let's see how the final release turns out tho!
