Yeah this is a Chinese idiom so you will come across it in a lot of Chinese works not just danmei. I love that expression because I have been in similar situations where I feel that lol

@SollenbumI bought How to Save the Villain through Happibess and ordered Nan Chan from AtomComics. I hadn’t heard of Unne back then. Both worked well (though it was a bit of an adventure to order a book from a Polish website.
In German we have a similar proverb like the Chinese one which delights me to no end. The Chinese one seems to be more flowery though which isn’t a surprise. From the meagre Mandarin I’ve learned it’s a such a poetic language.

It's like a horror survival game story (from what I read). The characters are trying to figure out how they got transported into the world and what the rules are to survive and escape.
I went ahead and preordered the first book.
I think Rosmei wasn't allowed to purchase the English license for e-books of specific series.

So far only one novel- well, really two- have made it to the States and been distrubuted, How to Survive as a Villain Vol 1 and Nan Chan Vol 1. Nan Chan got stuck in customs and is being sent back to Singapore and will be re-shipped due to some US Customs BS. Some lucky few got it but the rest of us are waiting patiently.

@SollebumNot sure if I’ve said so already: I ordered one from Atom Comics which is a Polish website (in Polish) and another from Happibess (who’s a middleman to order merch and books from Asia- she’s on twitter/X). I have ordered more from Atom Comics now because it worked well last time and this way I’ll be able to save delivery fee. It worked with Happibess too, but you have to fill out lots of Google forms and I fear I’ll lose track of things when ordering more than one item at a time.

My copy of Nanchan arrived from UNNE (German shop). It took a while, but I think it was because one of the books was a pre-order so they simply waited until all the books were in stock before they shipped them out.
Now I just need to find the time to read all those books ... 😊

Goodreads has never been good with notifications for anything on their platform. Sometimes I don’t get notifications on my own reviews. Check your settings to make sure they are turned on for this group but even then it’s still just sporadic lol

I don't know what's going on with Goodreads. I swear, it feels like they are doing everything to make people leave the platform. I'm very frustrated. Still, there's nothing better out there is the problem. I'm sorry I'm not seeing anything people are saying right now.
I used to get bubble notifications on the ap. Now I get no bubble but if I click into it I still get the notifications. Website still show notifications no problem too.
I know we are 2 months in, but I finally read my first danmei of the year haha 我不做人了 I'm Not Human. Super cute~~ I'm going to give into Little Madman’s Guide to Acting Good next. I'm in the mood for revenge and a slow burn romance, so hopefully this will fit the bill.
Right? The titles that make me smile have been known to get me to read a book even if I wasn't old on the synopsis.
Just wanted to say if you have a chance to watch Ne Zha 2 / 哪吒之魔童闹海 in a cinema you should totally check it out. One can probably understand the story’s content without watching the first but I’d recommend to watch it too (it’s for free with English dubs on Bilibili). It was great with all the ups and downs an entertaining story should have and the animations were absolutely amazing.
It’s just aired this week in Europe (better late than never). 😊

Recommendations I suggest is always "Married Thrice to a Salted Fish", "Dawning", "Modu (Aka Silent Reading)" and recently I read "Everybody Loves a Cannon Fodder" and it's absolutely the most hilarious read I've read danmei wise so far! 🤣

I think the novel itself is quite gripping and interesting to read, but in order to understand it better, looking things up about Chinese history is required. Also, as Rumyana said, the romance is quite slow... If I'm not mistaken, nothing big happens until the extras...
I love Thousand Autumns. The way the author wrote the characters made me have such high emotions for them. Their growth was really fascinating to me.

I loved the plot, the romance, the style. But not everyone will like it, especially those with preference for romance focused novels with simpler plots.

I am loving the covers for Dinghai Fusheng Records so far! I’ve only read the manhua so I’m really excited to read the novels when they come out!
This is such a pretty cover, I wish the same amount of care went into some of their other covers such as the Joyful Reunion or My Husband and I Sleep in a Coffin ones.

I saw that but the changes are cosmetic and sadly the cover still doesn't look good overall. It's just a tad disappointing seeing how they can make pretty covers but only the lucky ones get them, like Dinghai. This time Joyful Reunion clearly suffered bad luck, I don't want to say it suffered lack of care because I'm sure they don't want their covers to look bad either, but it is what it is.
