While I enjoyed this more than the last book, I’m left increasingly confused by the actual plot and paranormal happenings with each installment 😂 Also, please be done with the stubborn subplot surrounding Lee’s sister. I didn’t like it when it was first introduced, and it’s only gotten worse. She deserves more than a role as a deranged female character who can’t let go.

Rating/review: 5 stars - Loved this! I solved the mystery partway through, but there were lots of little bits and pieces surrounding it that I didn't pick up on that still made the mystery fun. Also loved the dynamics between the main duo and looking forward to seeing how this series develops.

Rating/review: 2.75 stars. There’s no denying KJ Charles’ wonderfully lyrical voice that threads through each passage, but I seem to have too much beef with Crane to truly enjoy the story 😅 Even the ending that was surely meant to be romantic left me with a nagging discomfort at Stephen’s current state. A shame but they can’t all be winners.

Rating/review: 4 stars. I recommend skipping the audio for this book, only because the narrator’s speaking volume fluctuates, and the audio quality isn’t fully up to par. But even if I was hoping for more of a slow burn, Whyborne and Griffin are fantastic characters with so much potential, and I’m excited to continue reading about them.

Rating/review: 3 stars - I'm not really sure how I feel about this! I think it was an interesting story, but with a lot of flaws that sadly dragged it down. My biggest issue with it was that there was so much info dumping - I got overwhelmed by the world-building instead of being able to appreciate it (it was interesting! just complex and with a LOT of players). I felt tired learning about everything along with Auggie. I DID love that Auggie started off kind of meek and then very quickly grew a backbone (and a funny one!) as he realized nearly everyone he knew was chomping at the bit to take advantage of him. That character growth was very satisfying.

Rating/review: 3 stars - There were a lot of tropes in here I usually like, but sadly, I didn't grow to like either of the characters and thought the case was super boring until about halfway through 😭 If I'm not really invested in the characters, sometimes a good mystery can reel me back in, but this plot was more like a crime that our characters needed to get evidence for than an actual mystery. It did get more interesting in the second half, and I wasn't struggling to get through it (hence the 3 stars) but overall I was just not as invested in this as I wanted to be.

Rating/review: 3 stars? I’m going to be honest: I was a bit too jet lagged to focus on the story or vibe with the humor à la Alice Winters. Lots of bickering and questionable professionalism, and offers a distinct approach from their other co-written work, most recently being Risky Behavior.

Rating/review: [2.5 generous stars because i’ve been feeling under the weather and books that keep me company deserve some credit 😂] well, Bailey was certainly a character lol. i think it’s time to come to terms with the fact that Easton U might be this author’s sole piece of work that has both the bones and meat for me to enjoy thoroughly. i can’t quite put a finger on why these other books aren’t clicking, other than the writing feels more dull, less enrapturing. but hopefully the next one can be a winner!

The second half was a lot smoother than the first half and I actually enjoyed finishing the book but the first half was a slog. Beautifully written as always. All Greg books are 5 stars compared to pretty much every other book I read, I gave this one 4 mostly for my own records because I kept mixing up all the rich kids and their silly names, and I liked the first book just a litttttle more. But this one was still incredible, and that ENDING! Can't wait for the next one!

While I think the number of pages could've been shaved down for a more compact plot (and ultimately, more impactful delicery), I enjoyed the world these new-to-me authors built. Definitely not nearly as angsty as I was expecting given some themes - there was one particular instance of contrived relationship drama that even the MC acknowledged as dumb lol - but the situation around the Condition intrigues me 👀
