Here is my 4.38 rounded to 4 stars review of You Can Die
by Rebecca Zanetti:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Overall, this was a riveting story with intense scenes as well as compelling and complex characters that kept me fully engaged. It’s skillfully written and will appeal to readers who enjoy psychological thrillers and police procedurals involving serial killers. The intricacy of the plot plus attention to detail in the world-building made this a definite winner for me.
I just finished The House of Eve
by Sadeqa Johnson. It was excellent very well written. Set in late 1940s/early 1950 Philly and Washington DC. Discussion of lots of issues of poverty, race discrimination and motherhood.
Here is my 3.98 rounded to 4 stars review of What Harms You
by Lisa Black:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Mystery
Overall, this riveting story arc immediately grabbed my attention and kept me engaged throughout the book. Readers interested in all aspects of forensics ranging from fingerprinting to genealogical tracing and much more will find something of interest in this book. I found it fascinating, but a little too detailed at times.
My review for

Here is my 3.05 rounded to 3 stars review of Until It Hurts
by Polly Whitney:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
While it has a decent mystery plot and is amusing at times, it is also somewhat forgettable.
Here's my 4 star review of Dead and Gone

Overall, this riveting story arc immediately grabbed my attention and kept me engaged throughout the book. What a disquieting and unsettling prologue!
Here is my 4 star review of Tall, Duke, and Scandalous
by Amy Rose Bennett:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Historical Romance with some suspense
Overall, this was an entertaining and fun novel that kept me engaged throughout the book. While the novel is somewhat predictable, I felt connected to the story and wanted Jane and Christopher to work through their issues.

I am reading the new book by Dianne Freeman A Newlywed’s Guide to Fortune and Murder
. I always enjoy visiting with George and Frances. Rose is growing up and they still haven't taken their honeymoon yet. Good fun.
Closing out the week with a thriller -
The House Guest by Hank Phillippi Ryan https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Here is my 3.01 rounded to 3 stars review of Goodbye Paris
by Mike Bond:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Political Thriller
While the story is action packed, I never truly connected with the main character. It was entertaining and interesting, but I'm an outlier with just 3 stars. If interested in the book, I recommend reading some of the 4 and 5 star reviews.
My review for
The Demise of the Soccer Moms by Cathryn Granthttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Here is my 4.12 rounded to 4 stars review of Dead of Winter
by Darcy Coates:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The author does a good job of balancing the shocking events against the mystery of determining who to trust and who is the killer. Exceptional characters, intense fight scenes, bitter cold, snow, ice, horrible deaths, and an absorbing plot are combined with a protagonist who is far from perfect and a killer with one or more unknown motives. The story has plenty of layers and is quite dark and horrifying at times.
Here is my 3.81 rounded to 4 stars review of What Still Burns
by Elle Grawl:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Overall, this psychological thriller was engaging and atmospheric with action, suspense, and a bit of a romance. However, I wanted a little more character depth and a more detailed ending.
Read/reread The Last Thing I Expected by Heather Rae Scott, a romantic comedy from 2006. I remember starting this, but apparently never finished. Decent enough story, but the editing could have been better.

Here is my 4.52 rounded to 5 stars review of Wide Awake
by Steven Konkoly:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Political / Military Thriller
Konkoly is an outstanding storyteller who kept me on the edge of my seat with gripping scenes, action, a superb plot, and fantastic writing. His military background brings an authenticity to his thrillers. He does a great job of balancing the shocking action scenes against the intrigue of the conspiracy plot and the planning of countermeasures.
