I really enjoyed this book. It gave me a lot of food for thought. The friendship between the girls is unique, as is the story. You might like one half better than the other, but they both built on the themes. I hope you like it too.

I LOVED the friendship in this book. This book is perfect for this tag. A lot of people immediately judge or label Eleanor, but she’s doesn’t fit neatly in a box. I hope you like it.

Anita Pomerantz | 9287 comments Thanks, Nancy! I was excited to get it from the library. I had mixed feelings about her other book, but I did like her writing!

Glad it worked for you! Even if all you do is keep up your tbr (and remove those initials as a tag when you finish books), now you know how (see my message to you) to do a "tagmash" to find those combos for what's on your tbr that fits a tag.

I should add that there are far fewer people on LT than here, so there are likely more books listed here on GR with a tag than what might come up at LT, but hopefully it's still plenty enough to help you out!

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8424 comments Another poignant, emotionally difficult read: Of Mice and Men

A long epic: Lonesome Dove

And on a lighter note:
Iona Iverson's Rules for Commuting by Pooley
The Narrowboat Summer by Youngson
The Persian Pickle Club by Dallas
Red Sky at Morning by Bradford
Tales of the City by Maupin
Jana Bibi's Excellent Fortunes by Woodman
The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat by Moore
Nights of Rain and Stars by Binchy
The Chilbury Ladies' Choir by Ryan
Not Quite Nice by Imrie

Michelle H | 173 comments I will be reading Elizabeth & Margaret: The Intimate World of the Windsor Sisters. This is not currently tagged as friendship but the summary of the book describes the two as sisters plus the best of friends. Elizabeth and Margaret were so close growing up and siblings can definitely be friends as well. The book has been on my TBR list for a while and I am excited to read it.

That sounds like an interesting one, Michelle! I'm curious to see what you think when you're done.

Joy D | 10114 comments This is another darker book about a group of friends that I'm planning to read for the tag:
If We Were Villains

I might read this too. It also fits a prompt I need for my ATY round two. Some of the reviews are very persuasive.

NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11084 comments Does anyone know if Shrines of Gaiety fits friendship? I’m also wondering if it takes place entirely in 1926 - or if it extends into the 1930s?

Theresa | 15564 comments For a darker friendship story, I recommend The Likeness by Tana French.
