Are there any books that you picked up solely on the base of its cover art? What is your favorite book cover?

(I'm a day late, I apologize!)

Arrows of the Queen by Mercedes Lackey, my introduction to Valdemar. I saw the paperback in a regional discount store (like Walmart but called ShopKo, now defunct). I bought it and the 2 others in the trilogy.

I think the only book that I've ever bought solely on the cover is Black Sun Rising by C.S. Friedman. Which I absolutely loved.

Black Sun Rising (The Coldfire Trilogy, #1) by C.S. Friedman

Ann-Marie | 19 comments I don't know that I have ever picked a book because of the cover but I do really like Murmuration by T.J. Klune .

Cheryl (cherylllr) | 392 comments I love the cover of Planetfall. If you're not familiar with it, do find a larger image. And oh so many others. I very often pick up picture-books, of course, based on cover alone.
Planetfall (Planetfall, #1) by Emma Newman

Nyssa | 213 comments I know I have picked up many books due to their covers, but I decided whether or not to read them based on their descriptions.

I love a lot of covers; I don't have a favorite, though.

An odd (?) phenomenon happens to me with book covers and tv theme songs - The more I anticipate and/or enjoy the work, the more I love the cover/song.
