That Ain't Gangsta - 50 Cent
Shuffle is always fantastic for random combinations. I leave it on that to make my busride a little more interesting in the morning, plus the louder songs wake me up!
In my defence, I have a fairly large I-pod, so I have a lot of music from others on it as well as my own. I would probably have skipped Frampton (I like him, but not that song) and 50 cent (not a fan). Unless the book I was reading distracted me enough that the music's sole purpose was to drown out the rest of the people on the bus.
Sara, I know what you mean. I wasn't commenting on you having them both. Just on them both being in the same mix.I use a computer as my primary sound source in my house. I have several computers up and running all the time. However, Cosmic Garden (what the media server is called) is my music computer. I have just over 37,000 songs on there. However, I mostly keep them sorted into different playlists. When the music is playing and a song comes up that I don't like, I don't want to have to run to the office and skip it.
My wife has a tiny iPod clip thing. My kids each have Touches. I have a Creative Zen I rarely use. I make mix cd's for car trips. I make dinner playlists. I make exercise playlists. I've even made sex playlists. The point is it is all in the playlist.
If I'm in a classical mood, I'll play all classical. If I want something harder, I'll play something harder. Thus if things are sorted correctly, I won't have Mahler's Kindertotenlieder (German symphonic pieces which are very sad indeed) followed by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails screaming 'I WANT TO F@CK YOU LIKE AN ANIMAL'. Both are in my lists. Both are among my favorites in their respective genres. I just can't switch gears that fast.
I think it is brave of you to put everything in a single playlist and let it go from there.
1. Breakin' Dishes - Rihanna2. Tonight's Today - Jack Penate
3. Warrior Dance (Yemma Ya) - Copyright
4. Afro Blue - John Coltrane
5. Concrete Jungle - Bob Marley
I'll try.1.Please, please, please, let me get what I want - The Smiths
2.Shake your pom poms - Missy Elliot
3.Boston - Augustina
4.Little Verse - Fergus Brown
5.Collide - Howie Day
My MP3 lives permanently on shuffle. It's not flash enough for playlists, but it seems to have moods all by itself.1. The call of the Ktulu - Metallica (from S&M CD - live with orchestra).
2. Uptown girl - Me First & the Gimme Gimmes
3. The black widow - Alice Cooper
4. Golden Slumbers - Phil Collins (from In my life CD, George Martin's Beatles covers by invited artists)
5. Counting the beat - The Swingers (classic New Zealand number from 1981).
I'll update randomly throughout the morning, as I remember...
another offering from my randomness...1. Sam's song - Dean Martin & Sammy Davis Jnr
2. The memory remains the same - Metallica
3. King of the road - Roger Miller
4. Starman - David Bowie
5. Fire & Rain - Me First & the Gimme Gimmes...
I have a bunch of playlist, but when I play this game I go to the all music list and hit shuffle so that I get a true shuffle of all my music.

Wow, 2 Adam Pascal songs out of 5? I work in theatre and own a lot of show tune soundtracks and I even think that's impressive.
Tara wrote: "Wow, 2 Adam Pascal songs out of 5? I work in theatre and own a lot of show tune soundtracks and I even think that's impressive."I know, Tara! And at the moment I only have the Chess soundtrack and the Rent soundtrack on there - and not his own work.. I wonder what happens when I put those on my mp3 player too.. can I get 5 Adam Pascal songs out of 5 - would be cool LOL
helloo agaain, 1. Havent met you yet by micheal buble
2. daughters by john mayer
3. somebody to fall back on by Aly Micheala
4. Breathless by taylor swift
5. Stays four the same by the ready set
Well, since I haven't posted one of these in a bit, here's this morning's mix:1. Led Zeppelin - Achilles Last Stand
2. R.L. Burnside - It's Bad Ya' Know
3. Magic Slim & James Cotton - When the Levee Breaks
4. Los Lobos - The Town
5. David Sylvian and Robert Fripp - God's Monkey
I think most of you will know Zeppelin but not necessarily this song. The Burnside got some airplay in the early to mid 90's when it came out. A few of you might know Cotton but more likely the Zeppelin cover song. Los Lobos has been around forever but this is certainly not one of their better known songs. If you know the God's Monkey song, you are one up on me. I have no idea where this came from although I think I like it.
Last five songs I lised to on shuffle....1. La Negre Tiene Tumbao - Celia Cruz
2. September - Earth, Wind & Fire
3. Whipping Post - Allman Brothers

3. Boys of Summer by The Ataris
4. You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison by My Chemical Romance

Interesting.
Been a while since I posted a list. I love the lists I see here. I actually have a lot of this on my music computer and have had to track down a few others. gina~*, love The Tragically Hip, Ani Difranco, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Purple, Pete Yorn is always welcome. Erin, classic Iron Maiden, good Sister Hazel, and My Chemical Romance. Everyone has some good tunes. This morning's totally random list of all songs on the computer is:
1. 4:56 AM - Roger Waters from the Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking. Great stuff all the way around.
2. In a Big Country - Big Country - um... yeah... so I was alive in the 80's and managed to keep some of the music with me.
3. Come Together - The Beatles - I have no need to defend this to anyone.
4. Thanks Bro - Filter - I don't know where this song came from or even if I've heard it before but it's decent.
5. Mahna, Mahna - Cake - I think I actually like the Muppets cover of this song best. But Cake is definitely cool.

1. Conquest - White Stripes
2. I know what you dub - Michelle Shocked
3. Jazzman - Carole King
4. Nobody's Fat in Aspen - Christine Lavin
5. Disarm - Smashing Pumpkins
I thought it would be a cooler list starting off with the White Stripes. If I can admit to still having Carole King, who hasn't been cool in 30 years, on my player, you can tell us what comes up.
