PattyMacDotComma | 1260 comments Aussie writer Adrian Hyland's outback and remote rural mysteries feature female protagonists who are unruly in the best sense of the word - they have to be.

Jesse Redpath is great in The Wiregrass, and my only complaint is that Hyland doesn't write faster.

Since this book was originally published in 2024, and I read the Kindle version that's due to be published in April 2025, there is not much that I can add to the numerous already glowing reviews here on GR.

It's great, it's surprising, it fully deserves five stars.

PattyMacDotComma | 1260 comments Neil Gaiman has been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons (for him, that is), and Goodreads disallowed posting of this review for a couple of weeks. Presumably the trolling (or whatever) has died down, because I was able to post it today.
