Completed My Next Breath by Jeremy Renner | 206 pages | My ReviewA moving account and the profound life-affirming lessons after accidentally being run over by an industrial snow plow. Not for the faint of heart, Jeremy goes through the incredible details of the incident and the painful recovery afterwards. Not one for celebrity memoirs, but highly recommend this one for lessons in faith, family and our innate human instincts for survival.

I read Mona's Eyes by Thomas Schlesser; translated from the French by Hildegarde Serle. It is the story of ten-year-old Mona's excursion into the world of art under the guidance of her grandfather. I enjoyed the analysis of some of the art works, but the story of Mona and her family was disappointing and far-fetched for a number of reasons. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My review of Earth's the Right Place for Love by Elizabeth Berg

Pony Confidential by Christina Lynch
Yet another equine book, but this one is for adults. Read this to meet a pony search for the girl who destroyed his life! Illogical but hilarious! 😅

I read By the Lake by John McGahern. It's a character-driven novel which captures the life and times of a motley group of villagers living by a lakeside in Ireland. As I said in my review, it is simply beautiful and beautiful in its simplicity. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Conclave by Robert Harris
Finally read this acclaimed "religious thriller" and enjoyed it almost thoroughly. I'm glad I read this instead of watching the movie first. The book is much better.

I read The Voyage Home by Pat Barker, the third book in Barker's series on the Trojan women. This tells the story of Agamemnon's return to Greece and its aftermath. It unfolds in two alternating threads--that of Ritsa, Cassandra's maid; and Clytemnestra as she plots revenge on Agamemnon for sacrificing their daughter. Barker's whole series is very good and I recommend it if you're like me and enjoy mythic retellings.
