I got so excited about the pass the parcel theme that I forgot we were getting groups tonight! Thank goodness I finished a knitting group swap today. I don't think I could hold two big challenges *and* a swap in my brain all at the same time!

It was a very silly swap in a group over on Ravelry. There was no requirement that you had to knit or crochet anything for your swap partner, but since it's a yarnie site, pretty much everyone made at least a little something, and most of the swap boxes have had a ball or two of yarn in them, too.

Ravelry is an excellent site for anyone who enjoys any kind of yarn crafting. It's kind of similar to GR in the opportunities for social interaction, but it's much more user friendly. There are thousands of free patterns available, and thousands more available for purchase. You can search through projects to see what others have made to get inspiration. If you have questions about a pattern or technique, it's really easy to find help. And the information about all the different types of yarn on the market is downright dangerous!

I'd never heard of this before, I am going to have to check it out!! I have a bazillion crochet projects I want to get to and I would love to crochet more. I had stopped for a couple of years because of some surgeries, but did make all the grandkids afghans for Christmas.

when you're on the book list page, just click on the users name on the top left hand of the page and underneath the picture, still at the top of the page, will be an option to send a message or friend the person or...something else. i forget what the third option is.

Why does the signup keep closing earlier and earlier?? I made it a point to get on early this time and I missed it by a day! :(

If you're going to keep closing signups so early it would be easier for me if they opened when the last one starts. I make it a point to get on just for this challenge and have missed it the past 2 or 3 times :(

Becca - the last sign-up's (January) closed on the 17th; these closed on the 18th - so a day later

additionally, they were opened on March 7, so they have been open 11 days and a separate broadcast was sent out by Jane on the 8th to let people know
