Buddy Read for Nemesis Games (The Expanse #5)- March 1, 2023
Looking forward to this next installment. Hard to believe we're up to the midpoint now (well, midway through this one will be at least).

Same for me, Ginger This BR is definitely giving me motivation to get all the way through the series.

I love having the rest of the Rocinante having their own POVs!I have a feeling I’ll read this one much faster just because of that. 🙌

I think you're right, Ginger. BUT, (and don't read this until you get up to ch5) (view spoiler)
What a difference it is reading this versus reading the Malazan book I'm reading along with it. With these Expanse books, I read for an hour and suddenly I'm 60 pages along. I read Toll the Hounds for that or even longer, and I've only covered 25-30 pages! Those books are so dense while the Expanse books just flow...

Terry wrote: "I think you're right, Ginger. BUT, (and don't read this until you get up to ch5)"Totally agree! It's not a good feeling with this happening.
Terry wrote: "At the end of ch9, was not expecting that!"Hahaha!! I felt the same when I watched the TV series.
I was floored. I love how it’s written in the book so much more. It’s a gut punch of a plot twist. 😃👍

It really was. I’m now up to the start of ch 20. (view spoiler)
I’m up to ch41, about 100 pages left or so. I don’t see how all of this can get resolved in that few a pages!
Terry wrote: "I’m up to ch41, about 100 pages left or so. I don’t see how all of this can get resolved in that few a pages!"I feel the same! I think some of what is going on in this book has to be resolved in book 6, Babylon's Ashes.
There's just so much going on in this one and it's hard to put down. I can’t figure out which POV that I'm more excited to get back to while I'm reading this. hahaha
It's not like in the past books in where one or two POVs were more exciting then the rest. In this one, they’re all good!

I’m the same way!

That’s great, Kristen! I agree with Ginger, I think you’ll like this one as well. It’s been great so far.
Graeme wrote: "Once I finish HP, Goblet of Fire, this is my next big book to read."Sounds good, Graeme. I just finished it and loved it.
Ginger wrote: "Glad you loved this one Terry and I’m excited you’re about to start it Graeme!"Still gotta get through Harry's trials in 4th year...
Hello people!!! Do y'all want a thread for the 6th book for April? Or, whenever you get to it, lol!
Sally wrote: "Hello people!!! Do y'all want a thread for the 6th book for April? Or, whenever you get to it, lol!"Sally, I’m definitely up for Babylon's Ashes next month!

Me too!
Graeme wrote: "I'm in, but It'll be late April."Graeme, I likely won’t start at the beginning of the month as well.
Too many books, too little time to read. 😂🤣
Sally wrote: "It's there now. Whenever you get ready!"I just finished this one! This was my favorite in the series so far. I concur with the other comments, I loved that it was so focused on the crew of the Rocinante. (view spoiler)
I think there is another novella in between so I am going to read that then start the next. I will try and get a jump start as obviously I am a bit of a slow reader. Glad I’m finally caught up!

Especially this one...
(view spoiler)I laughed every time they had any sort of interaction. LOL!!
I got a late start on this due to March's schedule of "larger" books. I am up to chapter 13 now and cruising along nicely. I should finish up before the end of the month no problem, but will not get to the next book until the end of April....again. Large books slated for April.Personally, I love Amos' journey in this more than the rest of the crew - but that was my take on the TV series as well, so perhaps I am a bit biased from that. Idk, but I love this series!!
I will check in as much as I can. Happy reading everyone!

At 37%. Can't help but notice that In Leviathan Wakes, it was the mystery of the missing heiress, in this book, it's the mystery of the missing ships in multiple flavours (Gates swallowing them whole, or humans stealing them for nefarious purposes). In both cases, it is the mystery that is drawing the characters forward, and the readers along with them.
Graeme wrote: "Terry wrote: "It is definitely hard to put down. So much fun!"Loving it."
And this one is not a re-read for you, right?
