How It Fits: #6 Jack Daniels
Review
The last book left with a cliffhanger as to who Alex Kort shot and this one opens with the funeral of Jack's fiance. Jack becomes a wanted fugitive as she chases Alex across state lines to protect those that she loves from being murdered. This was a fast paced novel with the usual spattering of humor to deflect from some of the gruesome parts of the novel.

Book: To Catch a Killer by Julie Anne Lindsey
How it fits?: #6 in Heartland Heroes series

Review:
To Catch a Killer was a fast-paced, suspenseful read with a great second chance romance. Nash and Lana were involved years ago before Nash moved away after joining the U.S. Marshalls and their relationship didn't end well. I liked that while there was some bad memories in Nash and Lana's past, they were able to move past that to deal with the situation at hand. I was happy with the way the two resolved their issues and overall really enjoyed the romance. The suspense plot was great although I will say there were some convenient moments. Like the fact the fugitive Nash is chasing just so happened to set up in Nash's hometown where he would have a ton of connections for help. But that a side, I did really like the plot and there were some great suspense filled moments. Overall, a really enjoyable read and I will definitely be checking out the other books in the series.

How It Fits: #6 Kate Daniels
Review
This is was a re-read for me and I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting the world of Kate and Curran. Kate and Curran head off to arbitrate a dispute in exchange for Panacea a medicine that combats Loupism. However the exchange is not so straight forward as an old adversary of Kate's makes an appearance and issues an ultimatum.

I loved this book especially the banter between the two Hudson Brothers. The jockes are the funniest things especially Tod's who knew that reapers had a slot on sence of humor. The books just keep getting better and better you can never except what will happen next and your heart always takes a beating becahse of it

Book: Considering Kate by Nora Roberts
How it fits?: #6 in The Stanislaskis series
Date finished?: 3/29/2023
Rating: 4 Stars
Review:
The Stanislaskis series is one of my favorites of Nora Roberts early series and I loved revisiting Kate's story. The connection between her and Brody is very well done and I really enjoyed how flustered he would get by Kate as she's very open about her interest. I liked the build up in their relationship and thought the ending (with Jack proposing to Kate and then Kate proposing to Brody) to be very sweet. Plus, as this is the final book in the series, there were a ton of scenes where the entire Stanislaski family got together and I really enjoyed getting to see the other characters again. Overall, a solid conclusion to the series and one I would highly recommend.

This is the 3rd installment in the Jack Daniels Thriller series which saw Jack on the heels of a killer who send her snuff vidoes. This was an installment where the infamous Alex Cort appears for the first time and a lot of the details in future series were explained here. A good series that mixes humor with the gore.

Review:
Die for Me was a fantastic book and I really enjoyed this one. Sophie is a wonderful character and I found myself loving her more as the book went on. Her romance with Vito was great and I liked the build up between them. The murder investigation was incredibly interesting. The inclusion of medieval torture methods and whatnot made this quite unique and I liked following Vito and the other cops as they searched for the killer. Overall, a very solid read and one I would definitely recommend.

How It Fits: the book is 7th in the Bow Street Consultant series
Review: This book had a couple of issues that kept it from being a 4 star read like the previous books.
#1 - the author thought it was necessary to add explanations (with footnotes!) as to who appeared in earlier books and what they did. Annoying!
#2 - the main characters let 2! people get away with murder!!! Yes, I understand the reasoning, but still. Disappointed!

Review:
After reading a few books in the rebooted Nancy Drew series and not really enjoying them, I wanted to go back to the original series that I enjoyed as a kid. The Clue in the Diary was a great example of why the original stories were so good. Nancy is a fantastic character and that really shines through here. Plus the mystery of the diary was a good one and I was entertained throughout the book. Overall a solid story and I would definitely recommend these books over the newer iterations of the character.

I didn't like the racial prejudice and sensitivity that the author threw in. It wasn't necessary to the story.

After revisiting The Clue in the Diary and really enjoying it, I wanted to reread more books in the original Nancy Drew series so I was excited to pick up Nancy's Mysterious Letter. This one isn't as good as the previous book in my opinion but it's still a fun story. Nancy receives a letter that is actually for an heiress with the same name and she works to track the young woman down discovering a nefarious plot in the process. I enjoyed the mystery and it's always fun watching Nancy solve the case. Overall a fun story and I will definitely pick up more books in the series soon.

I didn't care for the ending though. It wasn't really a cliffhanger, but the author left the MC where we knew he wasn't going to stay.

Review:
The Wayward Children series is one of my all-time favorite series and Where the Drowned Girls Go was no exception. Cora is still struggling after what happened in the Moors which leads her to leaving Eleanor's school for another. Whitethorn is so different from Eleanor's school and it was frankly pretty depressing. I was super happy with who showed up to bring Cora back and their impact on the story. I'm always happy to see characters from other books pop up. Overall a great addition to the series and I will definitely be picking up the next book soon.

Spare by Prince Harry

How It Fits: Standalone
Review
I don't normally read autobiographies but having listened to a sample of this I decided to download the audio and all I can say is "Well done that man". Who can forget the image of a lost young boy following his Mother's coffin and this is where the story starts for Harry. Told in his own voice this is a no holds barred tell-all of what it has been like for Harry, growing up as the "spare".
When this book was released there was a media frenzy over extracts from the book, which I can only assume was brought about by the no-holds barred account of the effect that the "papparazzi" have had over Harry's life.
There were moments of humor, I now have a vivid image of the king exercising in his bedroom; happy and tearful moments.
I have never been a fan of the media and the intrusive nature of the business. Unfortunately the media seem intent on pitting two brothers against each other, after all conflict sells.
If you haven't read this, I highly recommend it, whether you favour Kate & Wills or Harry & Meghan.
