Review: I really liked this light, romantic comedy. The MCs, Poppy and Alex, have been best friends for twelve years even though they are so completely different. Each summer except for the last during that period they have taken a summer trip together. Two years ago something happened that ended the closeness of this friendship. This year Poppy decides to try to repair the relationship with one more summer vacation together. Surprisingly, Alex agrees so Poppy has one week to try to return things between them to their former closeness. The story goes back and forth from the present to each of the former vacations so you get the full picture of what happens between them. The characters are highly likeable and I enjoyed the story. I will probably read more by this author.

Challenge Re-Read Review:
Bit fetishistic,
what with the butts and trauma,
but sweet, sexy, warm.
Original Review: Wow, this was a good book--especially if you're a sucker for gay hockey/ice skater pairings, like me.
I loved how very aristocratic and proper Rupert unbent to embrace fatherhood and his love for Callum. I loved how Callum became brave enough to love his family openly. This was my first Samantha Wayland book (it won't be my last), and I know that Alexei and Mike have their own stories, but they were so delightful here.
The book took its sweet time unfolding (and most of it was sweet, though I wanted Callum and Rupert to share their secrets a bit sooner) and was seriously sexy. I googled hockey butts (don't judge--I'm not a fan of hockey, just hockey romance) because the f-ass-cination in the book is off the charts.
Definitely a 4+ read, and I'm halfway through Poetry in Motion, which includes Callum, Rupert, and the rest of the Moncton Ice Cats family.

Review: Asher's life is a mess, his parents died leaving him to take care of his five younger siblings, he was drafted to the NHL but had to defer it,and courses are kicking him because he can't concentrate due to his Grief. He is pretending to be an assist so no-one sees how broken and fragile. Kole is Asher's coach only son. He is the equipment manager for the team because he lost a bet. Kole sees through Asher's facade, become friends and help tutor Asher. They soon find sex rewards work as the best motivation for learning. The f-buddies become boyfriends.

Review: I am in love with this couple! The narrator has finally fully grown on me so I wasn't bothered by him at all. Cooper had a lot of growth in this one. I was really proud of him. Oliver was as sweet as usual. I'm so glad i finally picked these books up!

Review: I, to my surprise, loved this books. I didn't have a favorable opinion of professor Eckstein from his brief appearance in book 4. To me both character came off as asshats for different reason. Now I can understand a no extras credit policy, but it needs to be tempered with compassion. Storming into a professor's office without knocking because he refused to listen to the reason for the request of his brother is not productive behavior. The reason were well explained Andi can understand them. They were better when they helped each other out. Asher, from book 4, when being unhappy with the relationship of his older brother with the professor who wouldn't listen was being a jerk.

Ugh. Love the later
books, but hate “a hole’s a hole,
bestie, let’s bang.” Blechh
I think this series improves as it goes along, and I’m not bothering to read them in order. But the books with the gay man pining for his straight friend until the straight friend has an orgasm and realizes all cats are gray in the dark are grossly offensive.

Review: This was a good conclusion to the 4-book Edgewood series. The four teenage MCs with super powers are persuaded to infiltrate the enemy group, the Associates, in order to find out what they're planning since they always seem to have the upper hand. Convincing the Associates that the MCs are changing sides is a tricky proposition especially since they are surrounded by people with powers as well. And they soon realize that the evil group is planning devastating attacks leading to world war. The kids must try to save the world and their lives. Very entertaining book and good ending.

Review: This series was amazing. I really liked how this one ended with the start of Cooper's "pack". Cooper is finally going to embrace his Alpha-ness and be the best leader he can. I cannot be more in love with him and Oliver as a couple and I loved that we got to see more of Eli. Great addition to an even greater series ❤️

Simple, didactic.
Liked crew scenes better than MCs.
Too young and dumb.
I really wanted to like this. I love crew, so it's no surprise that worked for me. And I always want to read and champion own voices. But the MCs felt like teenagers in an after-school special rather than complex, interesting young men. Maybe I'm not the target audience? Maybe it wasn't well written? Maybe it was more interested in educating the youth about the dangers of unprotected sex AND that HIV isn't a death sentence? Regardless, it didn't work for me.
But it did knock out a hard to fill spot for another challenge AND got it off my TBR.

I'm slowly working through this series--I like it, but it's easier in small doses.

Since I listen to audiobooks i can only read the first 2 books. I'm enjoying the first book so far

The characters do cross over, and the books generally set up the next romantic pair, but I've not had any trouble reading them months apart. I hope you have the same experience.
