I have not read any of the books on your list but I have enjoyed some of Sarah Addison Allen's other books so I will go with

February 2023:
Reading Speed: Hare"
You had a lot of interesting books on your list, but for your picks I went with

VampAmber I pick for you"
I can't wait to read all three of them (and will hopefully read at least one next month, since I'm kinda bad at that usually). Thanks for the great picks.

Did you pick for me and I missed it? I checked a couple of times and did not see anything.
Thanks!

Hope you like these:

Enjoy!

Sorry I'm late! Is it too late to pick for Cathy? We've been inundated here (my mother in law passed away earlier this month so I got caught up in helping my husband with some massive paperwork and he's not even the executor, his sister is since she lived in the same state)
Something is weird here and it won't show the first link properly.

Hope you like these:

I just came and I think she's a turtle :) I picked before I saw this since I was on the previous page (my mother-in-law passed away this month so I got very far behind on GR.)

Sorry--death in the family so I was slow to get back. All I could keep up with was mod responsibilities elsewhere and one or two other things. My pick is above.

You're welcome! I get the emails for this group and am on here often enough that I can help pick if needed :)

You're welcome--enjoy! I just picked one since you said turtle, and she's an author I keep meaning to read and have heard good things about.

Book - Where the Drowned Girls Go
Author - Seanan McGuire
Date Read - 2/4/23
Rating - 3 Stars
Review - Love the series, but found this one to not be sort of lacking and a bit stale.

Book: Slice of Murder
Author: Rosie A. Point
Date: 2/2/23
Rating: 3 stars
Review: Not enough character development but an alright storyline and the killer was a surprise

Rating: 2 Stars

Way too much monologue and info dumping. So much telling, I couldn't connect with the characters, and both of their voices sounded the same.

Too short a book for the topic of PTSD, and which wasn't handled well. Couldn't believe in the characters, they only had sex in common.

Fun, fast read. Good retelling of Snow White. Could have used more depth to the characters and better proof/editor. Too many grammar errors. I'd still read the other books in the series.

Immortal in Death by J.D. Robb 6/2 4★
Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm enjoying the series, although I found the MC a bit irritating in this one.

rounded up to 4 stars. I wrote a review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

After the Storm by Linda Castillo
Date Finished: 2/13/23
Rating: 4 stars
Thoughts: It had been many years since I read the previous book in the series, but that didn't affect my feelings on this one. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The storm parts were sometimes difficult to read; my parents and grandparents went through a tornado 11 years ago this month. But the actual mystery part was interesting. I look forward to reading more from this series sooner rather than later.

Messenger of Truth by Jacqueline Winspear
Finished: 2/16/23
Rating: 5 stars
I love this series and book 4 was another fabulous read. I appreciate how she is growing and changing as she still struggles with her war-time experiences. Besides the mystery, I enjoy reading about the time period.

The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde 1/3 4★
