Pam (pmunro) | 176 comments I read The Stars Are Fire / Anita Shreve. I have mixed feelings ... October 1947, the fires in Maine caused the loss of everything they owned. Grace was strong in the face of adversity. The cruelty exhibited by Gene towards Grace was not deserved. She did not cause his disfigurement and had nothing to do with his true love turning him down after the war.

Alice | 109 comments I finished The Poisoner's Ring The Poisoner's Ring (A Rip Through Time, #2) by Kelley Armstrong by Kelley Armstrong. Time travel from modern Vancouver to 1869 Edinbourgh, Scotland. Good mystery and historical piece of how to deat with being a modern woman and then dumped in 1869. Book Two of the series.

I gave it 5 stars as well. My review: I can't recall when I read any book so quickly as I read this one. There are no lulls in the action and I cared about the characters enough to not put this one down until I knew the outcome. I guarantee this one will grab you on page one and won't let you go until the end.

The story begins with a plane crash off Hawaii into the ocean -- sinking below the surface but with air pockets for those still on board. Most of the people who got off the plane were killed when fire broke out due to the fuel spilling in the water. The plane has settled in an unstable position under the water and those on board and those trying to rescue them only have a limited time and questionable options to get the job done.

If they don't make this book into a movie they are missing out...this would make a great action flick.
