Aussie author Kerry Greenwood's popular Phryne Fisher murder mystery series continues with #6, Blood and Circuses, which sees Phryne disguised as a circus trick rider. A lady of many talents! Who knew?

The Girl in the Ice, by Robert Bryndza, is the first book in his popular Detective Erika Foster series. It's hard to believe it was the author's debut novel. Great read, with six more to follow.
4★ My review of The Girl in the Ice
Starting off the week with
Apprehend Me No Flowers by Diane Vallere https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Secret Scripture, by Sebastian Barry, is the mysterious story of the most beautiful girl in Sligo, Ireland, who has been in a mental institution for decades and is now 100. No wonder Barry was Ireland's Laureate for Irish Fiction. It's terrific.
5★ My review of A Secret Scripture
Next week sees the release of
Four Parties and a Funeral, the fourth Catering Hall Mystery from Maria DiRico. I got to enjoy it early, so I've already posted my thoughts. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I am reading Winter's End by Paige Shelton. Book 4 in the series. It is set in Alaska. All the books have been good and the Alaska setting is wonderful
I am rereading Shane Lusher's "Blood Tithes". Shane is an outstanding writer of what I would call Midwest Noir. His protagonist, Dana Hartman, is a great character. I wish I could write as well as Shane. He is a great storyteller, highly recommended.I am also trying to read Charles Willeford's "The Way We Die Now". A friend recommended him, but, three chapters in, Willeford just isn't grabbing me. He's good, but perhaps just not my cup of tea. I'm going to stick to it and see how it goes.
I finished up the week with
The Christie Caper by Carolyn Hart https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I am reading The Verifiers
by Jane Pek. Set in NYC. Our main character, Claudia, works for a company that verifies people who use social media apps to date. Fun very modern book.
Finlay Donovan Jumps the Gun #3 by Elle Cosimano

Starting out the week with one of this week's new books -
Intrigue in Istanbul by Erica Ruth Neubauer https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My original post had a broken link, so here it is again. Robert Dugoni's latest, Her Deadly Game, is a courtroom drama with a good investigative dilemma at the heart and a most intriguing solution.
3.5~4★ My review of Her Deadly GameIf you're a NetGalley reviewer, it's on NetGalley until 11 April.
A Tidy Ending by Joanna Cannon certainly has some strange, tidy characters as well as a strange, tidy ending. There is a lot of love out there for this one twisty mystery.
3★ My review of A Tidy Ending
I am reading The Family Remains
by Lisa Jewell. I enjoyed The family Upstairs, and like this one so far. Some of the review are not great, but I like her books and writing style.
Finishing out the month with
The Clairvoyant Countess by Dorothy Gilman https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My review of Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinboroughhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I've just started I'm a Fan which is on the longlist for the Women's Prize for Fiction this year

Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. Darkly funny but runs out of steam halfway into the book. It makes perversion beautiful and vulgarity tender. Rating - 3/5
