"I loved that one, Christine - hope you do, too. 😊
The Spy Coast, by Tess Gerritsen, is a new ensemble piece about five spies who have tried to retire quietly to a small town but discover it's not that easy. The author was inspired by real life circumstances near her, which made it even more interesting to me.
My review of The Spy Coast

Great setup so far.
My review of The Lady in the Car with Glasses and a Gun by Sébastien Japrisothttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Starting out the week with:
Mushroomed Capped by Cathy Wiley https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I am reading The English Breakfast Murder
. It is book 4 in the series. I have not read this series in about 10 years. Very enjoyable cozy. Stays close to cozy format. I like the beginning a lot where Theo and friends are watching the sea turtles hatch. I love tea so all the tea talk is wonderful.
Struggling young author Junie is accused of racial passing, known as Yellowface, by social media critics in R.F. Kuang's novel. Good story - glad I'm not a publisher!
My review of Yellowface
Finishing off the week with:
Knot of This World by Mary Marks https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Heiress by Rachel Hawkins 5-StarsFamily lies and deadly secrets.
My Review
Wired by Julie Garwood 5-StarsThe FBI has a leak and Liam Scott needs to plug it.
My Review
Texas Bodyguard: Chance by Janie Crouch 3-StarsSwitching places with a target isn't smart.
My Review
I am starting book 2 of The Sebastian St. Cyr Mysteries, When Gods Die, C S Harris. The 1st book in this lengthy series was very good.
Kicking off another week with a middle grade fantasy novel, the new Percy Jackson book:
The Chalice of the Gods by Rick Riordan https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I finished There Should Have Been Eight
by Nalini Singh. I thought it was very poor. Characters were not likeable and the plot has been done in many other thrillers.
First mystery of the week is
The Kill of It All by Diane Vallere https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
PattyMacDotComma wrote: "If you think the British royal family is in disarray now, just be thankful they aren't burning 'heretics' at the stake. 🔥 You didn't dare be out of favour with King Henry VIII. I love the Matthew..."
Ha! Add this to my stack.

My Review
Wired..."Love Julie Garwood@!
The Last Devil to Die is the 4th by Richard Osman.
More emotional than its predecessors now that readers have formed an attachment to the geriatric Fab Four.

The Seven
by popular Aussie author Chris Hammer sees Ivan and Nell's homicide investigation uncover more deaths and disappearances in a town where wealthy landowners write their own rules. Great read and good as a standalone too.
My review of The Seven
Whew, First nonfiction of 2024 completed --
Guests of the Ayatollah: The First Battle in America's War With Militant Islam by Mark Bowden.
This is a comprehensive recounting of the 444-days takeover of the US Embassy in Iran in 1979-1981. It read easily, like a crime thriller.
My review -- https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Ending this week with the wonderful
The Raven Thief by Gigi Pandian https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Trail of the Lost: The Relentless Search to Bring Home the Missing Hikers of the Pacific Crest Trail by Andrea LankfordReview https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Murder at an Irish Wedding by Carlene O'Connor ⭐⭐⭐⭐.2 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Getting a hop on Easter mysteries with the new anthology
Easter Basket Murder with stories by Leslie Meier, Lee Hollis, and Barbara Ross. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

All Of Us Are Broken by Fiona Cummins ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...and
The Girls from Sandycove by Siân O'Gorman ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm glad I chose a dozen of Michael Connelly's Bosch series to read through 2024 because it means I'm assured of at least one good read a month. Nobody missed The Concrete Blonde, an obviously interchangeable porn performer, until her body is discovered, which could ruin Bosch's career.
My review of The Concrete Blonde
