Emotional, enthralling, hold your breath recounts of collegiate regattas, boys toughened by hardscrabble lives in the relative wild of the Pacific Northwest, yet still optimistic and single-mindedly determined to reach somewhere within themselves, an Olympic title just a pitstop along the way to achieving the spiritual goals of fellowship, community, trusting others and challenging yourself, and feeling personally fulfilled. My full 5/5 star review here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Still working on some Christmas mysteries.
Dearly Deleted by Sarah E. Burr https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

This is the most cerebral and intricately plotted mystery book I've ever read. Reminded me of the movies Tenet and Momento, both by Christopher Nolan, in that the time travel / reliving the same day is one in which the future can affect past actions, and the breadcrumb trail goes every which way, but somehow fall into place at the end.

I'm wrapping up my Christmas books for the year with
Let It Crow! Let It Crow! Let It Crow! by Donna Andrews https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Twelve Slays of Christmas by Jacqueline Frost 🎧 5-StarsCute and Fun Christmas Cozy Mystery Read

Who Slayed The Santas? by Leighann Dobbs 🎧 5-StarsSanta got run over by a toy train.
My Review
Second Duke's the Charm by Kate Bateman 5-StarsWonderful Historical-Romance with a touch of Mystery.
My Review
I just finished a good thriller One Last Secret
by Adele Parks. Lots of twist and turns. Many changes in our main character Dora.
I’m currently reading The Boys of Biloxi by John Grisham. In early December, upon boarding a cruise ship, I read The Wager by David Gann, author of Killers of the Flower Moon. Just a little light reading about a shipwreck! Lol. I’ve got a couple Sarah Maas books waiting. Then I’ll be checking out recommendations.
I'm ending the year with the new novella collection
Irish Milkshake Murder, with stories by Carlene O'Connor, Peggy Ehrhart, and Liz Ireland https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My review of Christmas Lights and Cat Fights: A Jules Keene Glamping Mystery by Heather Weidner
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My review of The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax by Dorothy Gilman
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Charles Dickens is known for many things, but this spooky story about a railroad worker seems different to me. The Signal-Man could easily have been a Twilight Zone episode.
My review of The Signal-Man
The Tilt, by excellent Aussie author Chris Hammer, is the second in this rural mystery series, but it would be just as good as a standalone. Homicide detectives in small towns are up against generations of feuds and loyalties.
My review of The Tilt
I'm starting off the year with
Partners in Crime by Steve Hockensmith https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I finished Dead Mountain
by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Book 4 in the series. Very good, captures the uniqueness of New Mexico and its history. Good Mystery too.
My first cozy of the year is
Dead and Gondola by Ann Claire https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm closing out the week with my first audio book of the year:
The Burning Room by Michael Connelly https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I finished Death Below Stairs by Jennifer Ashley and very much enjoyed it. I liked our main character Kat Halloway a lot. Lots of spunk. Also enjoyed of cooking techniques in 1881. Looking forward to reading book 2 in the series.
I finished
Do You Remember? by Freida McFadden. Excellent thriller. I have liked all her books so far.
My first psychological thriller of the year is
The Suicide House by Charlie Donlea. I tend to read a lot of psychological thrillers and sometimes the stories are so similar that I get them mixed up after reading. This has a different story and kept up my interest. The twist at the end was good as well. This is the first book I read by this author and looking forward to reading more of his books
Starting to read the 5th book of A Secret Book and Scone Society series The Vanishing Type
by Ellery Adams
