I'm hoping to start that series soon, too, James. Let me know if it's good!

that's why I like when someone says a little bit about the book they've just read in their post. I'm unlikely to follow a link to a review, but a couple of sentences about the book might be enough to pique my interest so I'll want to read it

finished It Walks by Night by John Dickson Carr. I would never have guessed the how or the who, nor the rather ingenious plot twist the author throws in to shake things up. Once I finish reading Study for Obedience I'll be headed to Carr's second book in the Bencolin series, Castle Skull.

Going through my re-read of the Kate Daniels series and #3 is where the series begins to gain momentum. It's a great jumping off point for new readers.

It was an okay read but the plotline was nothing that I hadn't read before in other novels. I probably would have liked it better if the main character was more likeable. The author gave him so many personal issues it was hard to root for him. Right now I don't have any plans to read the sequel novels.

About half way through Silver Nitrate by Silvia Moreno-Garcia and as with so many horror novels, it's turned into something of a mystery. If you like the supernatural creeping into a story filled with film trivia, much of the trivia concerning real films, then this may be for you.
