Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert are arguably the best known film reviewers in the history of cinema. Author Matt Singer tells us all about the movie critics, and their Siskel & Ebert film review shows, in this book.

The book is entertaining, informative, funny, and poignant. A must read for movie fans. 4 stars

Toby Peters #9, in which Toby is hired by Eleanor Roosevelt to retrieve the dognapped First Dog Fala. The intricate plot finds Toby dealing with Buster Keaton, the far right wing and assorted crooks and goons in Hollywood in 1942. I love this series and this is one of the best -- 4 stars.

Thanks but I'm waiting for the bad LA cop novel. At least it's not a novel, because it's nonfiction? Happy Reading!

PattyMacDotComma | 920 comments I love Aussie author Robbie Arnott's writing, and I'm sure I would have enjoyed The Rain Heron more if I'd read it instead of listened. It is original, poetic, and magical, but it is also brutal, which is a (little) less confronting on the page than when going straight to the brain.

Araych | 676 comments Dark Angel Dark Angel (Letty Davenport #2) by John Sandford by John Sandford

Letty Davenport #2, probably best to read #1 first. Another home run from John Davenport; this guy bats like 950. This one is brand new, lots of talk about the Russian/Ukraine war. Letty is tasked with neutralizing some very scary hackers and things get even more hairy as she gets into the job. It's a thriller, not a mystery and very thrilling it is. Highest recommendation -- 5 stars.
