A meandering mystery, sprinkled with humor and two interesting, quirky main characters. It kept me turning the pages.

PattyMacDotComma | 820 comments If you think you might enjoy historical murder mysteries, I recommend C.S. Harris's Viscount Sebastian St. Cyr series, set in London, early 1800s. Terrific characters and atmosphere. When Maidens Mourn, #7, is another winner.

Carolyn | 2102 comments Old God's Time by Sebastian Barry Old God's Time by Sebastian Barry, features a retired policeman looking back on his life and the trauma that rippled down to the next generation following child sexual abuse in the 1960s. A tough story but beautiful Irish writing made it worth reading.

Carolyn | 2102 comments Louise Candlish's latest psychological thriller is a clever slow burn with an ending I didn't see coming. Definitely recommended for those who love this genre.

Gayle | 111 comments I finished listening to Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney - 3.5*.

A somewhat entertaining story with lots of marital strife, a creepy remote location and several twists at the end with one that I didn't see coming at all.

I also finished listening to Shakespeare's Trollop by Charlaine Harris - 3.5*.

This was a light and easy read about a woman working as a housecleaner, and practices karate too, slowly picks up clues about a murder as she goes about her business in the small town.
