I haven't written any thoughts on what I have read for a long time, work got very hectic and I fell out of the habit. But thought I would give it another go in 2024, starting a bit early.Just finished The Malcontenta by Aussie Author Barry Maitland #2 in the Brock # Kolla series . Published 1995, and set in England around the same time, a police procedural. (series currently up to #14, last book published 2021)
Some themes were of its time (AIDS not Covid, and tech a bit dated), but corruption, homophobia and inequality of women in the workplace are all still (unhappily) with us, so still relevant today.
Have had this (paperback) book to read for a couple of years, but have put it off mainly because of the very small print. I shouldn't have, because I enjoyed the book, and the print didn't get any bigger with the years, nor did my eyesight improve.
Next in the series I can get in e-book (large print on demand), so probably won't be as long between reads in this series for me.
★★★☆P.S - I think this book is out of print, if anyone wants to take up the series, let me know and I will post it to you. (BYO magnifier)

I think he's more an actor than a writer Rowan. Bad luck though. I wasn't tempted when I saw it.
