I've just enjoyed The Long Game, the first of Aussie author Simon Rowell's series featuring Detective Sergeant Zoe Mayer. Her new service dog, Harry, is helping her get back in harness herself after a bad bout of PTSD.
My review of The Long Game(Detective Zoe Mayer #1)

The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Korean American Axie Oh is the retelling of a Korean leg..."I was listening to the audiobook so I couldn’t work out if it was just my lack of attention but I kept drifting off and the story really didn’t pull me in
The Secret Cove in Croatia by English author Julie Caplin is a light beach-read travel romance. Maddie begins working as crew in a luxury yacht sailing around the beautiful Croatia, finding the entitled guests a trial, until sparks begun to fly with one of them. ⭐⭐⭐ here is my review

Rachel wrote: "I was listening to the audiobook so I couldn’t work out if it was just my lack of attention but I kept drifting off and the story really didn’t pull me in"I had the digital book but faced the same issue. Felt quite disappointed because the whole world seemed to be praising the writing, the characters, and the plot, but I found it a chore to finish.
The Madwoman of Serrano by Dina Salústio is the first novel by a woman published in Cabo Verde and the first novel translated to English from that country. It is a novel of love and loss, magical realism and mystery. Here is my review
Brenda wrote: "Murder of a Lover is #13 which I'm reading this month. Yours above is #14 - but I get what you mean so will definitely take note - thank you!"That's good Brenda. #14 continues on with the plot from from #13 so I didn't want you getting any spoilers and spoiling your enjoyment of it.
The Raging Storm by Ann Cleeves is #3 in her Two Rivers series. I'm still trying to warm to her MC, Matthew. He's a very different character to Vera and Jimmy.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Brutal & Strange edited by Jim Fusilli a book of crime short stories inspired by some of the songs by Elvis Costello. 18 of today's leading crime authors have come up with some sharp and twisty shorts. It prompted me to queue up and listen to the Elvis Costello greats once again. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I've liked all of the P.J. Tracy Monkeewrench series, but my favourite so far is #7, Cold Kill (aka The Sixth Idea. Suspenseful (plausible!) threat to today's world. Great read.
My review of Cold Kill - The Sixth Sense
City of Light by Dave Warner is his first novel and is set in the depth of WA's corrupt underbelly during the 1980s. It's quite a long book (over 500 pages) and would have benefitted from being more concise, but having lived in Perth around that time I enjoyed it it because I was very familiar with the events and places he described. If you haven't read this author yet I'd suggest starting with one of his later books.
