The Redgum River Retreat is a dual timeline historical fiction by Sandie Docker set in Tasmania in the 1940s and contemporary times. It deals with the wartime Snapshots from Home project, selective mutism and the healing power of music. Here is my review
I wasn't entirely sure of the direction that Nick Alexander's latest novel, The Imperfection of Us was taking, but I was completely convinced by the end. 5★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Tim Flannery and his daughter Emma have the singular talent of presenting a potentially dry topic and keeping it interesting and entertaining. 4.5★s for Big Meg: The Story of the Largest and Most Mysterious Predator that Ever Lived.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Red Hail by Jamie Killen
The first half of this indie book creeped me out. The second half was quite good as well. A scifi mystery-thriller about a mysterious plague.

Having really enjoyed two previous novels by Bella Osborne, I found An Invitation to Seashell Bay: A heartwarming and feel-good romcom that will make you smile this summer disappointingly light-weight. 3★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Midnight Is the Darkest Hour by Ashley Winstead is a darkly gothic tale of religious bigotry and corruption in a small Louisiana town.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Outlier opinion, because I found this a mixed bag. Most readers found it far more suspenseful and impactful.
