The Murder of Mr. Wickham by Claudia Gray - a cosy mystery in an historical setting, featuring many of Jane Austen's beloved characters. Review here
The Binding Room by Nadine Matheson - the second instalment in Matheson's brilliant series featuring London D.I. Anjelica Henley. Review here
The Hush by Sara Foster - a gripping near-future dystopian thriller by an Australian writer. Review here
There couldn't be a better choice of narrator for Pip Williams' latest wonderful historical fiction, The Bookbinder of Jericho, than Annabelle Tudor. An utter joy to listen to. 5★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Cozy Up To Death by Colin Conway is first in a fun cosy mystery series, where a man hiding from some very bad people, tries to start a new life by running a crime fiction bookshop in a small town, even though he doesn't read novels.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Andaza: A Memoir of Food, Flavour and Freedom in the Pakistani Kitchen by Sumayya Usmani

The Ten Percent Thief by Lavanya Lakshminarayan
An imaginative dystopian sci-fi written in an unusual style. This is still available for request on Netgalley, though I got it from Edelweiss.

Far out this book was brutal!!The Confession by John Grisham

The London Seance Society by Sarah Penner was a bit too loved-up and messy for my tastes.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus is a feminist historical fiction set in the 1950s featuring scientist Elizabeth Zott who becomes a TV cooking show host. Her male bosses have a sweetly feminine show in mind but Elizabeth is a chemist and she has a different idea about how things will run. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ here is my review
American author Tracy Clark really kept me guessing in the first book of her Detective Harriet Foster series, Hide. #2, Fall is definitely on my TBR. 5★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Nor every read can be 5★s. I was a bit disappointed with Madelaine Lucas's debut, Thirst for Salt, just 3.5★s from me.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My review of
Running Deep: An Australian Submarine Life by Peter Scotthttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Hello Beautiful is the catch-phrase of the father of four sisters in Ann Napolitano's latest novel, which covers about fifty years. Love, anger, strong differences of opinion, even death - it's all here.
3.5~3★ My review of Hello Beautiful
Revelation is a 1964 short story by Flannery O'Connor about a bigoted woman in the US South who is forced to face a rather uncomfortable truth.
3.5~4★ My review of Revelation with a link to the story itself.
Here's my review of The House of Now and Then by Jo Dixon, a twisty dual-timeline intrigue/thriller, set in my home state of Tasmania.

Here's my review of One Last Stop, an irrepressibly warm and fuzzy queer romance by Casey McQuiston, which was shortlisted in last year's Goodreads Choice Awards.

My review of
The Librarian by Valerie Keogh, a psychological suspense with a slow build up leading into a fairly predictable plot. 3.5★ because I loved the excellent ending. review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Enlightenment of the Greengage Tree is the first book translated from Farsi to be shortlisted for the International Booker award. It is written by Iranian author Shokoofeh Azar who fled to Australia as a refugee when her book was banned in her home country. The story is an historical fiction with strong elements of magical realism and Persian mythology. It tells us about a family from whose lives are turned upside down after the Islamic Revolution in 1979. Here is my review.
My review of
What the Neighbors Saw by Melissa Adelman, a domestic suspense in an exclusive neighbourhoodhttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
