Questions or problems with completed task posts will be posted here.

If you have questions about your points on the Readerboard:

1. Make sure that the Readerboard has been updated through the post that you are concerned about.
2. Please check your math.
3. Check to see if one of your posts is listed in this thread with a question. If so, please make a NEW POST in the Completed tasks thread to clear up the question. DO NOT go back and edit the original post. I will not go backwards in the completed task thread to pick up points.
4. To avoid further questions/problems, please refer to the TASK DESCRIPTIONS and The Rules of the Challenge.

Thank you for helping keep the record keeping for the challenge as manageable as possible.

Just an FYI for your own record keeping - your first book is option 2, not option 1, of the task. No need to repost.

Nightfall in the Garden of Deep Time only shows as an ebook and a paperback with no page numbers. You can ask to get page numbers added to the paperback in the Anyone with Librarian Status thread.

Siobhan post 122

Books that are only in ebook form cannot be used for tasks with a specific page number requirement. Approval in the ebook verification thread only says that the book meets the 100 page floor for use of books in the SRC.

Please check your totals. I show you with 40 points after your previous post, plus 20 for this one, giving you 60.

Books with the MPG of Comics, graphic novels, etc. cannot be used for 20, 25, and 30 point tasks unless specifically allowed in the task.

Am I There Yet? The Loop-de-Loop, Zigzagging Journey to Adulthood includes the main page genres of Graphic Novels and Comics and task 20.5 does not have a specific allowance for these.

I am mystified, since you are on my spreadsheet, with your points. I will need to figure out what's happened with the spreadsheet-posting connection, but my IT troubleshooter is not up yet, However, rest assured that your post was not missed and that it is on the spreadsheet and we will sort this out.

Shadow post 382

Welcome to the challenge, Shadow.

Just an FYI - we do not use kindle page numbers for any purposes in the challenge. Please see the Rules of the Challenge for determininng page numbers:
"If you read an ebook, or audiobook use the page count for the mass market paperback if one exists. If there is no mass market paperback edition, use the paperback edition and if no paperback is available use the hardcover edition."

In this case, all of the editions exceed 220 pages, so it doesn't matter - however, it's best to know how this works, as it can matter in some cases.

This is just an FYI - no need to repost.

Adventurer post 417

Option 2 of the task requires that the book be set at least 90% in the 20s, and that you provide a reference to support this. The blurb for Journey to the End of the Night states that it goes from "from the trenches of World War I, to the African jungle, to New York and Detroit, and finally to life as a failed doctor in Paris,"

Please provide a reference to support the setting being 90% in the 20s.

Adventurer post 5.1

Vita Nostra has 2 authors, one male and one female. See the Default Rules and FAQs:

"8. What if a book has multiple authors in a task involving author names, initials, or other characteristics (gender, birthplace, etc.)?
The general default rule is that books by a single author must be used. "

Task 5.1 does not allow multiple authors.

Adventurer post 445

Task 25.4 specifically disallows book with the Childrens genre on its main page. Aesop's Fables includes Childrens as its 4th main page genre.

Also, please note the Default Rules and FAQs:

"3. If a task call for author's initials, can I use an author who uses only one name?
If the task does not specify, the author must use two or more names."

It’s considered semi-autobiographical of Celine, starting in WWI, and ending when he first tried to get it published in 1931. Following his own experiences. I don’t know how else to show it took place in the 1920s…

Thank you!
