Who knew that 1962 was such a good year for books. Your new authors are all good, McMurtry is a favorite of mine. Enjoy the rest of your planning.
Marvelous list, Shawn. Two of my favorite authors on your new author list--du Maurier and Wharton.

I really enjoyed this book. It reminded me of a number of other coming of age books I have read, but had a unique feel and voice. This was my first McMurtry and I genuinely enjoyed his writing.
Great book to start my year off with. I look forward to checking a few more off the list. This one makes me want to read Lonesome Dove - which has been on my TBR for ages.
I read my first book by McMurtry back in 1991. I was on a job and away from home for a few months and picked up a book called Anything for Billy. Right after that I read Lonesome Dove, I have been hooked ever since.
It's nice to get the first book under you belt. You have some very nice book lists. I hope you have fun with your challenges this year.

You have so many great books on your lists. Turn of the Screw is amazing. I normally don't like books with a supernatural element but that book does it so well.
I've wanted to get to A Clockwork Orange, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and The Right Stuff for a long time but I always procrastinate on books when I've seen the film first. Maybe this year I'll get to one of those.
Have fun!
