November 2022 Word Search Scavenger Hunt
Begins: 01Nov22 / Ends: 30Nov22

.

Your challenge is to find the words/phrases shown in the above post in the TEXT of the books you are reading this month.

You are NOT restricted to one book / one word; you may find as many of the words/phrases in a single book as you like. If you find all the words in one book you are really lucky!

NOTE - you may NOT use the book which is the source for the words in the scavenger hunt!

This month's scavenger list are words found in
The Night Watchman by Louise Erdrich The Night Watchman by Louise Erdrich

NOTE: You may NOT use this book for this month's scavenger hunt!

Basic word list
bacon
broth
cinnamon
coffee
fruits
gravy
meat
oatmeal
pancakes
peach
pie
relish
sandwich
syrup
venison

Optional (BONUS) word list
bannocks
buttermilk
hashbrowns /or/ hash browns
pemmican
yolk

=============================================================

Unless a variation is specified above, words must match exactly, with the following exceptions: I will accept a plural/singular version, or differences in spelling between British and American English (e.g. honor or honour). But those are the ONLY deviations allowed. So, if you are looking for "vivid" - I will NOT allow "vividly."

All books used must be a minimum of 100 pages long - Page length determined by HARDCOVER 1st edition. If there is no Hardcover, then the most popular paperback governs page #.

You may read in any format - text, audio or e-book. If using audio or e-book I suggest using Amazon’s "look inside" feature to get a page number for your quote.

You MUST finish the book before you can claim credit for finding the word/phrase.

EXAMPLE of a successful post:

ambition - The Sweetness of Water ✔ – 05May22 - pg 247 - "…maintain a sense of ambition."

Have Fun!

Robin P | 232 comments I'm in! too bad I'm reading a book right now with a bunch of food in it but I will finish it in October.

How about hash browns as 2 words? I think that is the more common spelling.

It's actually easier for me to find the words when they are thematic, any time a food is mentioned I can verify if it's one of these. The hardest words for me to find are the "invisible" ones like "indeed".
