It's < b > text < /b > (without the spaces in the brakets)

Kari wrote: "Click where it says (some html is ok) on the top right of the writing box. All the format codes are there, including bold."

Just an information for better understanding why some people ask that kinds of questions:
Your solution only works in the browser version, mobile versions (apps) don't have this option (at least not those available in Germany, I used both OS and Android, so it's not a device issue). Apps lack some other basic options as well, e.g. adding book/author links, editing a message you posted or changing editions (one of them).

The way I phrased the rule was that folks just need to say which task they are reading for in a Selection Post.

It seems in the past some people get lazy or just don't communicate. They don't post anything until right before the deadline. The poor Captain is worried sick and gets frustrated because they never hear anything from that person.

The rule is just to make sure that people acknowledge that they've seen the survey and are focusing on a certain task. There's no problem with someone changing to a different task or book.

I only know how to do this on the computer and here's how I do it...

To get the link to the comment, right click (or if on mac/computer without right click- control+click) on the time portion of the comment. Click copy link address (I can provide a screenshot if you need one)

Then for the code its

<*a href="LINK">TEXT<*/a> without the asterisks. Just plug the link you copied into the link part and add whatever text you want

Example

They probably are, but I wanted to give the top 10 answers to the survey, so I included both.

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 1987 comments A question to The Hulk - read a book where the author uses a pseudonym.
Would a book originally published by an author using a pseudonym count here as well (e.g. Jane Austen used A Lady, Louisa May Alcott used a male name, don't remember which one) or only current pen names?

Shelly | 640 comments Are the points awarded to each answer made up by a randomizer or are they from some actual list? In other words do I need to think of what the majority of a group of people would answer or do I choose as if the most popular answer is random and it’s the luck of the draw?
Did I make this question as clear as mud? 😆

message 68: by Lanelle, Production Chief (new)

Lanelle | 20510 comments Mod
Yes, you need to think of what the majority of a group of people would answer. Here's the sample survey -

Name something specific that might make a blind date not go very well.
Answers:
Nothing in Common - 22
Body Odor - 18
Male shorter than Female - 14
Arrives Late - 13
Car Trouble/Accident - 8
Personality Clash - 8
Sloppy Attire - 7
Bad Breath - 4
Date is a Bore - 2
Ugly Date/Bad Looking - 2

So, 22 people said 'Nothing in Common', 18 people said 'Body Odor', and 14 said, 'Male Shorter than Female'. You are trying to decide which answers are the most popular.

Does that answer your question?

Anywhere in the state.

Michelle's Empty Nest (mlundy5) | 704 comments If we haven't heard from 2 people yet this week, should we go ahead and read a book in place of them?

Team Dumas is in Similar Situation, but one of the missing is our Captain. So if she doesn't show up I am willing to be Captain. For reporting can I link to my scorekeeping tracking post which has the names of the team and links to completion post or list them all there on reporting thread?

Here's what the rules say: Family Size and Family Leave:
If your family (team) is smaller than the other families (teams), you can have a family member read an extra book each week. Also, for emergencies or arranged absences, an extra book can be read.

Unfortunately, that doesn't include team members that quit without letting us know :(

Hopefully you'll hear from them soon.

For reporting, I'd like you to follow the example I gave at the top of the Reporting thread. Honestly, it's a lot of work if I have to go to links to see what answer each person read for.

Just to clarify: the Time task - take 120 hours (5 days) or more to read a book - is to be interpreted as "at least 120 hours/5 days must pass between starting and finishing the book", not "must spend 120 hours actually engaged in reading"... right?

Sha | 266 comments Potentially weird question but - uh. I've been reading translated webnovels a lot and some of them are there on goodreads but without an official page count. However, I can promise that the one I'm reading right now has more than enough pages, since it's got 300~ chapters and 900000+ words as per my e-reader.

Can I use it for the prompt? I understand if I can't but it would be very convenient since at the pace I'm reading the thing I might finish it before any of the others.

The book I have in mind is My Disciple Died Yet Again, if it helps.

I've thought about your question for a while, and I'm going to say 'no' unless you have some way to verify a page count. Maybe from Amazon, WorldCat, or possibly the author's website. Sorry.

The publication year needs to be of the edition you read.

I'm not sure about the box. I think there is usually a publication date for boxed editions. You'll have to check.
