TART Challenge - Round 6 - Chase the Rainbow (4)

literally the only way I can play Clue is by tagging onto your and Amanda's coattails! I have never completely figured out how that challenge works.
Amanda, if you still want to do it I'll be very happy to be on your team (if you want me lol), but if you want to pass also I'm fine with that) :)
I've finished my book and updated my post to completion. Now I've got to find a Vampire book for bingo...
I am still down! I'll post in our old group to see if Marlee wants to play again for the team of 5 (and ask Wende if she doesn't, I don't want to cut Marlee out without giving her a shot since Wende didn't play last time!)

Here is your next task!Task 6 - 29. Read over 750 pages in books about the same profession, teams decide which profession.
Professions such as LEO, military or musicians are ok. Just don’t try to pass off a rancher and a chef as both being in the food industry - they are simply not close enough. Please include the selected profession in your completions post and to let me know how you know the book qualifies - title, precis, tags or lists, including links and any other necessary information. I need to know where to look to confirm your books. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.
Please note that private investigators/private detectives are NOT considered law enforcement officers.
I'm good with Law enforcement! It's always a favorite of mineETA: I'm going to do my selection while I'm thinking about it but if we decide to go in a different direction I'll be okay with that :)

Review: These types of stories are like catnip to me! An emotionally stunted, straight laced LEO paired with someone who does not play by the book at all, within a fantastical world of some sort? I’m so there. I was a huge fan of Butler’s debut series, and now it’s just been sealed that I will probably be the first in line for all their new releases. I loved the different magic systems here, the awesome worldbuilding, the witty banter, and of course the romance. From beginning to end this book had me completely captivated and I absolutely cannot wait for the next one in the series.

Totally exciting! I would 100% re-listen to this series. It's so funny, and the romance is wonderful, plus there's tons of edge of your seat action and suspense. Wonderful.
This is the kind of novel Joel Leslie should focus on... it's clear to see how much he enjoys the characters and the story. A very enjoyable listening experience.
I'm running a little behind this weekend, I'll try to finish early tomorrow.Janeylou, I do NOT envy you working out that rocking restaurant challenge. Let us know whatever you need.

Thanks trio..ive tried to do it in a way thatll.anyone needs to do is enter your books and pick your items ..all meals.have been planned in advance ( although we can do extra if needed)....it took all day but hopefully there will be nothing to sort out now

Thanks so much for all the time you invest in this challenge for us, Janeylou!! 💐💐
Yes thank you!! I do not think it’ll be a challenge I repeat but you’ve made it worlds better than it was
Amanda wrote: "Yes thank you!! I do not think it’ll be a challenge I repeat but you’ve made it worlds better than it was"I dont think i would do it again tbh , but its different to what we normally do and we dont have to read any specific books

You caught me Amanda 😂I was wondering how much praise I could honestly heap upon Joel Leslie... you know I dislike him, but damn, he did a great job on this series!

Hahahaha I just know I've accidentally hit cancel instead of edit so wanted to make sure it wasn't that.
I don't like Joel Leslie much (as we know, although I thought he did alright with Hush especially for how long it is) but I also don't like Alice Winters and the first book of that series was one of my first DNF so I think overall it would be a very bad fit for me. I've stopped even trying Winters works because I think my reviews aren't very fair when I know where i stand
Is that one all American accents? I feel like when Leslie doesn't try to do anything else he's really not too bad. Some of his Annabeth Albert dual narrations are alright (although he can't hold a candle to Kirt Graves)
All American accents (there are some regional things, but it's okay) - I just feel like he often just phones in his performances. He's clearly having so much fun performing this series.Give the In Darkness series a try!!! I wasn't a huge fan of the Hitman series either - this is a whole 'nother animal, I promise!

Oh no In the Darkness was the one I did try and DNF the first book lol. I just didn't love the way disabilities were handled. I've never even tried Hitman because of it I keep wanting to try because everyone loves it but I just remember feeling really icky about it
Oh, okay - yeah, that opening scene where the baddie tortures Lane is pretty gross. He grows a lot over the course of the series as he comes to terms with his blindness.
Here is your next task!
Task 7 - 36. Read 6 books with animals on the cover.
Books selected for this task need to have an animal on the cover, real or mythical. Any edition’s cover can be used to qualify. Please include the qualifying cover in your completion posts. Shifters count, but must be in animal form on the cover. The depiction on the cover needs to represent the actual animal - so a dragon on the cover works, a statue or tattoo of a dragon does not. Not a team decision.

Review: Reading this book you would have no idea that it was written by a debut author. It has incredible world building, is well edited, and has a fully engaging story. Rick and Kai were both amazing characters, and the romance between them was well done. They have extreme chemistry from the very beginning, and when they come together it’s explosive. The pack politics were very interesting, and kept me turning pages almost as much as the romantic storyline (which isn’t often the case for me). I still have so many questions, but I hope the next book in the series is able to give some answers!

Review: I personally loved this one even more than the first one! I loved Bennet and Kieran and really enjoyed watching their relationship develop. There was more of that amazing world building we saw in book 1, and a lot of our questions were answered, while still introducing more intrigue to make me want the next book as soon as possible. Kiki Clark has done a great job creating a new shifter world with awesome romance and such interesting pack politics that this series will keep me reading for a long time to come

Review: ach book of this series just continues to get better, and the world is being excellently weaved to what I’m expecting will be an explosive conclusion. I absolutely adored Marcus and Robson, their story captivated me to such a point that I stayed up WAY to late after telling myself “just one more chapter” too many times to count. With these two’s start I was worried it wouldn’t work out, but it was all for naught when I saw how sweetly they came together. I could’ve read hundreds of more pages with these two and am looking forward to the next story.

I could have done without all the angst based on non- or miss-communication but otherwise it's a sweet romance.
Looking forward to book 3, Brooke and Aspen's story. 😀
Hey girls, tomorrow morning my husband and I are driving up to Sweden to visit our daughter. We are driving in stages and will change hotels every one or two days. So I have no idea what my internet access will be like during that time, but I will definitely try to check GR every day and post my books. Although I probably won't have much time to read. 😬 Hubby may find it rude if I listen to my audiobooks in the car instead of talking to him.... 😂
Have a great time Caipi.....i need to finishe another book first so expecting this task to take a while

Very, very cool!
Lily Graham paints such a vivid picture of life in pastoral Cornish village in her paranormal holiday tale, A Cornish Christmas. It was so easy to imagine their charming home, Stuart's cooking and baking, and all the colorlful characters who make up Ivy's world.
There's some heart tugging drama as well, which I thoroughly enjoyed!
The audio edition of A Cornish Christmas is beautifully performed by Victoria Fox. There are a wide variety of accents in the story, and Ms. Fox tailors each voice perfectly for the characters. A truly lovely performance.
updated(my book was really great btw - a cool paranormal where the mom communicates with the daughter after she's passed away)
lots of interesting food also 😂
Updated mine as well Gonna spend this evening going round my challenges and see where i am ..think ive been slacking on harry potter
