This one is probably a bit of an easy one, but it does set up an excuse to get back into a series you've stalled on. Duologies and trilogies are great too, but for this one the aim is to focus on longer series. Once you've known a character for 20 books, they are far more familiar than any character you finished with after just a trilogy. :)
All you have to do for this prompt is read one book, not a whole series. If that one book is alluring enough you may wind up reading the rest of the series anyway, but that is just a possible side effect of reading books in series.

I chose the next book in Elizabeth George's Inspector Lynley series, A Place of Hiding.

Julie | 147 comments Inspector Lynley is a great series - I only need to read the newest one.

For this I will go with Terry Pratchett though: Hogfather

Rosalind | 53 comments I've just started the Rivers of London series so may continue with that but also like the idea of trying a book in the middle of an unfamiliar series

I am listening to Thud! from the Discworld series, as my bedtime story (again) this evening. I love that series. :)

The audiobooks of this series are excellent and really add to the enjoyment, if you like audios.

Yes I listened to the audio for the first book and it definitely motivated me to continue the series - such a good production.

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) | 137 comments I have a terrible tendency of starting and never finishing series. I'm trying to remedy that situation by creating TBR shelves lol to see if that will help me stay on track : ) So far this is what I've read.

Long ago I read The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende, before it became the first written and last to read of a trilogy Goodreads calls "Involuntary Trilogy". This month I read Daughter of Fortune. Next month I will read Portrait in Sepia.

Update. I finished reading Portrait in Sepia on Sept 05. I hope to sometime soon reread House of Spirits.

I am in the middle of rereading The Talented Mr. Ripley by Patricia Highsmith, the 1st of 5 of the Ripley series. I had watched the movie in 1999 and then read the novel. Since I want to continue on with the series, I needed to start over again.

The Talented Mr. Ripley (Ripley, #1) by Patricia Highsmith
