SOLVED. YA book. I got the first letter of the name of the character wrong. Also, it doesn't have a very large amount of reviews. [s]

I skim-read the first one or two pages of this book at the start of this year (2022), picked it up at a large bookstore, but didn't end up buying it. Now I want to read it but have forgotten the title and author. As the header/topic title suggests, it has a purple cover, has a teen girl protagonist whose name starts with the letter 'm' and in the first chapter, she takes the bus and then walks home from school. I remember it had quite a lot of reviews on Goodreads, and that the cover almost had a diary-esque feel to it, and a quirky title. Thank you in advance for helping me to figure out what book it is, and sorry if the information is not enough.

Might be “When You Reach Me” by Rebecca Stead.
The copy I read had a different colored cover, but the other details fit. YA, Main character is Miranda, lots of Good Reads reviews.

It isn't the right book, unfortunately, but thanks so much for your help. :) I think I don't have that many details of the book so it might be tricky to figure out what it is.

Thanks Capn! I appreciate your help. Looked through the list and it wasn't there, unfortunately, and neither is it When you reach me. Hopefully I'll find it one of these days haha
