Q: If I use option 3 TWICE, can I read the same author both times?
A: Yep! Sure can. :) I'm reading Intisar Khanani's book Thorn, so I could also read Sunbolt by the same author.

Lots of authors under the cut!

I'd like to thank the Academy. My family. Friend. My dog. Gale Hawthorne and Dean Winchester. And everyone else who made this day possible! God bless.

Done! It can be like Samus turning out to be a girl in Metroid. The genetically engineered space marine's gender identity is a mystery only they know the answer to. lol.

If we pick option 3 ... can we read TWO books by the SAME author, whose initials are in VALKYRIE?
For example could I read

You got it.
The paranoia that is. ;)
Also the verification. 'Fantasy > Supernatural'

Yep :) that fits. Just be sure to get the ebook verification since #2 appears to only exist in ebook or "unknown binding". Maybe something a GR librarian can help with.

I'm thinking two books by Victoria Laurie: Killer Insight and Ghoul Interrupted. They both have "Fantasy > Supernatural" and VL is in Valkyrie. Just double checking they're okay.
And do we get extra credit for reading a Cait Morgan book :-)

Yep! Those work for either option you'd like to use them for (or one of each!) I was thinking of The Ghoul Next Door since I have it on my kindle, but I also have Thorn (Bechdel Test/Author Initials in VALKYRIE) & Cracked (Fantasy>Supernatural) which I *also* already have. So at least I have choices? (I stopped looking when I hit three in *ONE* format. lol)

Noted for 'Fantasy>Supernatural' :) I've had a book of that series for the last two seasons.....I feel a little odd not continuing with Ruby Circle, but I was a little....meh? with the other two. Not sure why.
And I'll add your author to the list of suggestions!

Option 1 twice over...
Book 1 - Living Dead in Dallas
Book 2 - Club Dead

Thanks. Great task by the way!

But if it was there and fell off, it's likely to jump back on. I know I've managed to get a couple and catch them while the genre was showing.
I checked to see if it was on the list for option 2, but only the second book is listed so it wouldn't work for that.
Sorry! But if you catch it let me know and I'll do my best to lock it in.

As long as it is found on the list linked in option #2, you just have to include the book's position on the list and the page you found it on.
Being childrens you would just have to include the AR information as well "IL: MG - BL: 6.0 - AR Pts: 10.0"
But it has to be on that list. Being on the list is the only requirement for that one and I don't restrict against childrens.
I'm basically not sure what the real question is? But the short answer is: "If you find it on that list it works! :D"

that requirement--- but it's there. Super.
And it fits the children's requirement.

All the blame for getting me addicted to SRC rests solely on one set of shoulders--those of my BFF "Cait S." I practically stood up to torture as she tried to get this task idea out of me early, but hopefully
your freakin' apple piethe surprise was worth it! I couldn't ask for a better friend, confidante, and partner in various shenanigans. In toying with different ideas for this task, I discovered that there is a series of cozy mysteries entitled "Cait Morgan". (Hence the random task title.)
This is a TWO BOOK task.
There are three options to represent the three years we've been attached at the hip (going on #4!)
Since Cait and I can be brain twins, but are also very different in other ways you can:
1) choose two different options below
OR
2) choose one option and do it twice!
Required: State your chosen option(s) when posting.
Option One :: The family business
One of our favorite TV shows is 'Supernatural'. She's the Dean to my Sam.
Read a book with 'Supernatural' in the main page genres. Variations/embedded genres such as 'Fantasy > Supernatural' or 'Supernatural Romance' are acceptable.
Option Two :: Sometimes it's about girls
We talk all the time. About *everything*. (And sometimes that involves genetically engineered space marines...)
The Bechdel Test is as follows:
(1) Does the work of fiction have at least two (named) female characters?
(2) Who have a conversation with each other?
(3) About something other than a man?
If something meets all three, it passes.
For this option, read a book that you find on the Speculative Fiction that Passes the Bechdel Test list.
Required: Include the book's position on the list, and the page where it is found.
Option Three :: Defender of the Hawthorne
In fitting with the Valkyries and shieldmaidens in Norse mythology, Cait will defend her favorites (either fandom or physical loved ones) to the bitter end. She will also lift them up out of the ashes of whatever a heartless author puts them through and bring them to their well-deserved Valhalla in her heart.
Read a book where the author's initials can be found in VALKYRIE. Middle names/initials *do* count and all letters can only be used once. Each space defines a name and all name initials must be present. Hyphenated names count as one name.
