Here is your next task!Task 8 - 53. Each teammate reads a book set in one of your teammates' home town (born in, raised in, currently live in - all work), teams decide. No pass for this task.
As a team, select one teammate and everyone reads a book set in that teammate’s home town. Please include the selected teammate and their home town in your completion posts. If they live in a big city that is easy enough, but you are free to use the state if their home town is within the US and the country if outside the US. Remember to let me know how you know your book qualifies, be it the title, precis, tags or lists - along with any necessary information or links. I need to know where to look to confirm your books.

Emily, I've heard of Philip Margolin and the Kendra Elliot book looks interesting.
He is really good, have not read him in awhile. I thought the Kendra Elliot looked good too.
I've read several lenses Kendra Elliot books. If you like Romantic Suspense she's good.
I have a book from Portland by Kendra Elliot and also have a book in the Raleigh Cold Fury series so just let me know. I'm leaning towards the Cold Fury though because it works for my other challenge.
I was going to comment that the NC books worked better for my other challenges as well -- but then I found one of the Kendra Elliot books that worked. ;) So I'm going to lean NC since I know that author.
Is it NC I think I have an MC series that works
I know I originally said NC but without a firm decision I started a different book to fit my Gift Exchange prompt. I can get a Cold Fury book from the library but won't be able to start it for several days. Whereas I can start my Kendra Elliot book set in Portland tomorrow night because I own it and it's on my kindle. The reason for the differing start times is because I'm finishing up my current kindle book soon but the other I'm "reading" is on audio and the NC book is also on audio. I'm only halfway through the current and don't have enough listening time in the next 2 days to finish it faster.
I'm just going to standby on if we're going East Coast or West Coast.

I finished my book and it doesn't work for Portland. I got it off the Portland list but in the second chapter they went from Portland to Texas and mostly stayed there. I kept hoping they'd go back to Portland but they didn't. I'm reading a second book now. It's set in Oregon and I'm more than 50% so I should finish it soon.

Rating: 3 stars -- I feel like the set up is very similar to some other recent female detective/FBI agent series I read recently. If I can keep it separate in my head, I will probably continue.

Rating/Review. 3 Stars. Overall intriguing story, definitely had my interest peaked in the beginning but it got a bit muddled in the middle and one part of the ending just did not sit right with me.

Rating: 3 stars. Quick read with likeable characters, but nothing spectacular. I'll read the next in the series, but don't feel the need to do is soon.

West met his dream girl 5 years ago and has never forgotten her. When he sees her again he is not going to waste his second chance. Alexis has spent her life just accepting who she is never asking or wanting more, so when West makes a point or pursuing her she thinks well why not. She believes it will never go anywhere more than a few good times, but what she doesn't know is that West is playing for keeps.
A great beginning to a new series.

Book: Dragon Savior

I hated this book. The idea of dragons made to hunt and destroy demons was actually really interesting but the execution was so bad. I gave it an extra half point because of premise. Zero world building. Zero believability in the romance department. Zero skills in writing witty dialogue. The entire writing feels very amateurish if I'm honest and the sex scenes? It's like the author started to think sexy dirty and 2 sentences into it got embarrassed and faded to black. After finishing this book I have no idea what Serena Meadows' dragon world is about. No idea what any of the characters look like (except they're hot) or any setting details for that matter (except the waterfall... which is only important because the town no one ever went to is called Prospect Falls.) This entire series can die a lonley painful death based on my experience with this first book. 🌋🌪☄️🔥⚡️⚰️🪦⚱️🚽

which is by Aiden Bates and Jill Haven. One is on audio and one is on my kindle.
I changed my mind again lol. I actually was able to listen to 2 books yesterday that qualified so I'm going with the lengthier of the two.
