I don't know what you mean with 3 2s in it. ?

Fel means wrong, felet is the wrong (but that sounds really weird in English, I'd rather say the fault). I'd translate the title to "Something's wrong with Eden" - and it's not the Eden in the Bible, Eden is a elitistic new society. One can't say "The Wrong with Eden", right? That sounds really ... wrong.

But I accept whatever possible reason for claiming it for Tea for Two! =)

Tr1sha | 341 comments Nike, I agree - I can’t see any connection between the books & the challenge. I didn’t state that the books had to be classics as it seemed obvious from the name of the group. I also don’t see how the first book of a trilogy can be used for the number 2. Sorry to be difficult, Jazzy! Challenges are optional, so don’t worry if you haven’t time to do them.

I thought perhaps they were two names.

The Flaw With Eden - yes, that's a good suggestion.

Nike | 266 comments Jazzy wrote: "Trisha, I guess I just got carried away!"

But it was released this year 2022 - maybe that will be a valid Tea for Two? Was that what you meant with 3 2s?

Aha, I missed that - okay =)

Well, I posted a list above of the books I'm planning to read this month. If you can find something related to two among those you are more than welcome. There are a few classics.

message 63: by Jazzy (new)

Jazzy Lemon (jazzylemon) | 1053 comments I'll have to find them tomorrow - i'm getting ready to go to a house party! There will be a band and swing dancing and lots of food and games! Send me a link to where you posted your list please.

Tr1sha | 341 comments Nike - have you missed an obvious book? You have The Two Towers listed as a book you want to read - it appeared as soon as I looked at your profile page. But, as I said before, the challenge is optional. You don’t have to read anything, or you could read lots of books - it’s up to each person to decide.

No, I didn't miss it at all - I have for example on my reading schedule for this year Tale of Two Cities. But as I wrote somewhere in this thread my reading schedule for February is already full. I'm in on too many challenges =D - and I can't press in yet another book. And Jazzy said that if I show her what books I'm gonna read this month she'll find something that will make one of my scheduled readings fit this challenge also. I'll write them down again. =)

Nike | 266 comments Jazzy wrote: "haha i bet i could find a connection between one of the books you're reading! or invent one!"

Well - now I'm reading a Swedish dystopia YA that was released this year, but it's the first book of a planned thrilogy. After that I'll read Carmilla. Then I've planned listening to The Thursday Murder Club. And for the rest of the month: another Swedish book, a horror story which is the first in a trilogy Styggelsen, Alias Grace, then a short story collection by Mikhail Sholokhov, Tropic of Cancer, The Sand Child, The Doll-Master and Other Tales of Terror, Nausea, Other Minds: The Octopus, the Sea, and the Deep Origins of Consciousness and The Fifth Season. A lot of them are the first books of two or three or several. Be my guest - please pick one of them for this challenge =)

Jazzy Lemon (jazzylemon) | 1053 comments I am reading the sister book to Tropic of Cancer (1934) by Henry Miller - Henry and June (1931-2) by Anaïs Nin.

Perhaps we can use that one.

During the writing of the novel, Miller had a passionate affair with Anais Nin. In the book, Tania has an affair with Miller, who fantasises about her: by changing the "T" to an "S", one can make out Anais from Tania by rearranging the letters. It may also be noted that in one of Nin's many passionate letters to Miller, she quotes a passage.

In my book, Henry and June spans a single year in Nin's life when she discovers love and torment in one insatiable couple. From late 1931 to the end of 1932, Nin falls in love with Henry Miller's writing and his wife June's striking beauty. When June leaves Paris for New York, Henry and Anaïs begin a fiery affair

I would think this book of a love affair between two authors might fit in our Tea for Two, what do you think Trisha?

I saw the movie "Henry and June" twice in a week when it premiered on the movies many years ago. I loved it so much. But the book I'll read is not about that menage à trois, it's about his laying around earlier in life. I might read a short story that can fit this challenge though, but it's not a big deal if I don't - I can participate next month instead. =)

Nike | 266 comments Hm, strange - I didn't see your comments about the star sign above earlier. Now I saw that you hade made a number of comments and added the picture of the Zodiac sign. Meanwhile I have actually downloaded a short story by Guy de Maupassant (a favourite author of mine) called Two Friends. Maybe I can use both of those books then = ).

Lisa and Lottie are twins! The movie, The Parent Trap, was based on this book. The 1961 version that I watched as a kid featured Hayley Mills.

Michaela I finished Two-Way Murder, and it was good, though probably not the best of E.C.R. Lorac. I liked the setting and the complicated relationships in the village. I had a suspicion about the culprit from the beginning. ;)
