You read whatever you want by that author as long as it's not part of a series. :)

Karen, I messaged Lauri and haven't heard from her so I'm picking for you. If she comes up later and picks, feel free to go with whichever you prefer. I hope she's all right!

I'm picking Claudia Rankine for you!

Thank you, Jennifer! I hope she just got a little busy.

I have Claudia Rankine's most recent book on my shelf and waiting for me, so I 'll be very glad to pick it up!

Hi Karen! Sorry so late -- I'm not familiar with your authors, so I will choose the first one: Robin Wall Kimmerer
Happy reading!

I'm 20 percent through Change of Scene and plan to read Deep Dish in the next week. I also just got Christmas Bliss (which I can't read for this challenge because it's part of a series but am looking forward to anyway).

Finished one of my two picks (I'm still in the middle of the second) -- Deep Dish by Mary Kay Andrews Deep Dish good story & characters, not as funny or quite as "southern feeling" as some of her other books. 4 stars.

J.J. | 21 comments Desley (Cat fosterer) wrote: "JJ, I've only heard of one of your authors, so I'm going with that (just in case clicking on the other two increases my TBR!), so Andy Weir"

I finished Project Hail Mary and gave it 4 stars; here's my posted review: Still enjoy Weir and all the real world science interwoven in all the fiction. Lots of chemical elements in this one as well as the space calculations we saw in the Martian.

And just got The Egg and Other Stories... stay tuned!

Kerry Christian (kwcreads) | 38 comments Lindsey wrote: "Kerry, i pick Beatriz Williams for you. 😊"

I read Our Woman in Moscow - 2/21/22. It was OK. I usually really like her books and the writing, plot development, and character development in this one were still on point. I just didn't really connect with the content - Cold War / espionage fiction is not really my thing. I give it 2 **.

I also read The Wicked City, not knowing that it was the first selection in a series. This one was so good, and I cannot wait to read the other books in the series. I give it 3 ***.

Karen (readerkaren) | 143 comments I read Margaret Atwood's collection of short stories Bluebeard's Egg, I'm not sure if I will be able to read any of her other books on my shelf before the end of the month unless I read the other collection of short stories Good Bones and Simple Murders.

@Kerry - I like the Wicked City series as well.
@Karen, good for you getting one out of the way! Atwood isn't a "light" read.

message 72: by Denise (new)

Denise (derickert) | 1269 comments Finished The Island by Elin Hilderbrand , gave 3.5 stars. A good story just not as strong as some of her newer books.
