Hi bookishpursuit. For you I choose: Olivia and the Masked Duke because I love that you found a book with 22 letters in the title! Other pick is The Footman and I because it sounds different to the usual. Which ever one you pick, I hope you enjoy :)My 5 picks from my TBR:
Someone to Hold by Mary Balogh. Book 2 in a series. The only one in the series I haven't read. Not sure why I missed this one.
Web of Love also by Mary Balogh, also Book 2 in a series. I have a hard copy of this one I picked up at a secondhand shop, but have never got around to reading it.
Lady Sophia's Lover by Lisa Kleypas. Another Book 2 in a series. I read and liked Book 1 a while ago but haven't got around to this one.
Band Sinister by KJ Charles. Book title starts with letter B (2nd letter of alphabet).
The Bounce in the Captain's Boots by Jayne Fresina. 2nd letter alphabet (B) x 2 in the title =22 ;)
Hello Jan. Happy New Year! I'm choosing these next two for you:1) The Bounce in the Captain's Boots - Simply because I like the title. :)
2) Band Sinister - Because if I finally decide to read an MM book, it will be Regency and it will be KJ Charles.
My 5 picks this quarter are:
The Legend of Lyon Redmond by Julie Anne Long
- Like Sam, this is a 2-fer challenge addition and I simply need to finish this series at some point!
Morning Glory by LaVyrle Spencer
- The 2nd book I would read by this author.
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
- Another author in which this would be my 2nd book.
The Steal by CW Gortner & MJ Rose
- A team of 2 authors and 2 words in the title = 22
Beyond Sunrise by Candace Proctor
- An author who writes under 2 names
Thank you, Darbella! I’m thinking I’ll get both books done this quarter after my big fail of the final quarter in 2021. I just saw that there are two more books being released this year after The Steal.
(The Heist - book 3 on retail site for now, but it’s lovely, too)
I want to buy the paperbacks for the retro covers, alone! They’re so pretty.😍
SAM, I’m ready when you are! I’m getting that kind of euphoric anticipation to read Lyon’s book. A very rare feeling these days.
Darbella,
I choose for you:
Twin of Ice & The Spinster's Guide to Scandalous Behavior
My selection:
1. The Elusive Earl by Maddison Michaels - second in series, second by author AND the description mentions the heroine accidentally gets engaged to two men…so plenty of two’s to be had here
2. A Dangerous Kind of Lady by Mia Vincy - second in series depending on how you look at it (chronologically). I believe the title is 20 letters long as well.
3. The Viscount Made Me Do It by Diana Quincy - second in series and 20 letters in title.
4. It Takes Two to Tangle by Theresa Romain - two in the title.
5. When a Rogue Meets His Match by Elizabeth Hoyt - second in series.

Padma, did you pick for Joanna?
I have started to read Venietia by Georgette Heyer. Found it a bit of a slow start, or maybe it’s me who is tiered and cannot concentrate at the moment 🥱

I enjoyed the first one too. It surprised me some because I was expecting fluffy, but it had more depth to it.
I will send out the newsletter within the next day. I suspect we’ll get more takers for this challenge then, but if not, we’ll get a pick made for you in a couple of days.

Yay! I finished my first challenge book, Band Sinister, and I enjoyed it. It's been on my TBR since 2018 :0
Hi there. I came across this challenge and it sounded interesting. Is it closed to new additions? I'd like to participate but I'm having a little trouble figuring out who posted the last TBRs. It looks like Padma, but I'm not sure.
I picked for Padma. So there’s nobody for you to pick for. But I am sure one of the mods will pick 2 books for you.

I have read my two selections and both were enjoyable to me.
The Viscount Made Me Do It - 5 stars - I thought it was fascinating the way the two worlds were described and the occupation of the heroine. I also love a book that explores cultural differences. This one does. The mystery was good and the romance compelling. I did essentially start this series for promised desk scenes in this book, and I would say that the rest of the story was engaging enough that I hardly took note of them? Anyways looking forward to the last book which I have an ARC for :-D
When a Rogue Meets His Match - 4 stars. I regretted, to some degree at least, listening to this as opposed to reading. The beginning was very intriguing and atmospheric. I liked most things about it. It just wasn’t a favorite by Hoyt. I can say I am intrigued by series arc and future heroes/heroines. I went in with low expectations and enjoyed it considerably more than I expected.

Sorry for the delay Jenny! I can pick from your remaining.
I pick a Momentary Marriage and No Earl’s Allowed. I enjoyed both of those reads.

The MJP book has great reviews! I looked at your comments for book 1 and knowing our propensity to read in order, what do you think about skipping book one and diving straight into The Rake?

I would skip it, probably! But you can wait till I read the rake and I'll tell you for real

Your Chase pick has the audio on Hoopla, with Kate Reading as the narrator. Enjoyed it that way :)

This will be a quarterly challenge, with a new theme each quarter. This year our first theme will be 2022
I can't believe it's 2022. Let's start the year the right way and as an ode to the number...
So as this months, theme, pick anything HR related in your TBR with a 22 - or a 2. You know the drill. 22 letters in the title, author has 22 books, second book of the series, and so on. Use the 20th (T) and 22nd letter (V) of the alphabet. Have fun!
This is flexible and the purpose is to get some books moved from TBR to Read shelf, so have has much fun with this theme as you want:
HOW IT WORKS:
1) The first poster will post 5 book titles that they pick from their TBR shelf.
2) The next poster will choose 2 books from the first poster's titles and choose 5 book titles off their own TBR. The first poster will then choose to read at least 1 of the 2 books chosen.
3) The third poster will choose 2 from the second posters list .... and so on.
4) Each participant will have the entire quarter to read their book(s), post their rating and review. And tell us what you think of your book in this thread.
5) You are not limited to 1 time. You can return to select and post more options as often as it suits you.
