Not a mystery, but interesting.Shmutz
by Felicia BerlinerThe story revolves around a teenage girl named Raizl who lives with her Chasidic (orthodox Jewish) family in Brooklyn. Raizl is addicted to porn and is torn between her community and her wish to have some freedom.
This story is certainly something different. 3.5 stars

The Last Party
was great fun and had me guessing up until the end. My five star review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm sure The Sisters: Short Story, from James Joyce's much studied Dubliners, would have stirred up as much controversy then as the subject does today.
3★ My review of The Sisters
I enjoyed the latest (last?) pilgrimage that Rachel Joyce's characters have made to the north of England. This time, it's the missus who looks for answers in Maureen Fry and the Angel of the North. Another good road trip.
4★ My review of Maureen Fry
Now working my way through HELL AND BACK by Craig Johnson, the 18th novel in his mystery/thriller series featuring tough-as-nails sheriff Walt Longmire.
James wrote: "Now working my way through HELL AND BACK by Craig Johnson, the 18th novel in his mystery/thriller series featuring tough-as-nails sheriff Walt Longmire."I like the Walt Longmire books and TV series. 🙂
I read a disappointing historical fiction book, which I rated 2.5 stars rounded up The Battle of Wagram by Gilles Lapouge My review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

C.S. Harris combines mystery and history better than most, and I knew I'd enjoy #5 in her Sebastian St Cyr series, What Remains of Heaven. Great series!

Bernice Runs Away by Talya Tate Boerner ⭐⭐⭐.6 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...https://sandysbookaday.wordpress.com/...
I've read The Will by Rebecca Reid
Here is my five-star review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
All the Shah's Men: An American Coup and the Roots of Middle East TerrorThis was a geopolitical espionage story and an entirely nonfiction one at that. While I don't share author Stephen Kinzer's conviction, this was an intriguing book providing an overview of Iranian history and delving deeply into foreign intrigue of the 1950s.
My review - www.goodreads.com/review/show/4902400942
I read The Bandit Queens by Parini Shroff It is literary fiction set in a small village in India. It is both funny and sad as it depicts women confronting domestic abuse and more. My 4 star review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
A Dead Man in Naples
by Michael PearceSeymour of the Yard #6, probably OK to read as a standalone. It's 1913. An important Englishman has been killed in Naples and Mr. Seymour is dispatched to find the killer. I like the series but I found this entry a bit slow.
One of the classic 70s hardboiled PI series, I'm enjoying the DKA Files books by Joe GoresMy review of

I read Kinzer's book Poisoner in Chief: Sidney Gottlieb and the CIA Search for Mind Control, which I thought was excellent. Creepy doings, but it was a well-written book.

I read Hell and Back by Craig Johnson It is book 18 in the Longmire series, and while they are best read in order, it can be read as a stand alone. It is quite different form the other books in the series. I rate it 3.5 stars rounded up. My review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Bombay Monsoon

I am absolutely enjoying continuing the time travel adventures of Joseph Bridgeman; #2 is titled The Shadows of London / Nick Jones. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...I plan to start #3 this afternoon!
This is a delightfully colourful children's book with cheeky remarks and enough real facts to pique even my interest. The World's Most Ridiculous Animals, written and illustrated by Philip Bunting, should appeal to kids and anyone reading to or with them.
5★ My review of Ridiculous Animals with some illustrations
Isaac Asimov wrote
The Last Question
back in 1956 when computers were the size of rooms. This is an entertaining, very short, story, and a shock to read it in a time of Siri and Google.
4★ My review of The Last Question with links to the story and an interview
The Ink Black Heart
by Robert GalbraithCormoran Strike #6. WARNING unpopular opinion follows -- I have read and enjoyed the previous books in this series but....this book is just over 1000 pages, weighs 2.75 pounds and is 2.5 inches thick. That's ridiculous. I got a quarter of the way through and quit. Life is too short.
