Toby Peters #6. It's 1942 in L.A. Some mobsters from Chicago are pressuring Gary Cooper to do a movie he doesn't want to do so he calls Toby and the bodies start piling up. I thought this was one of the better entries in the series. It all seems like fun and games but you've got to keep your eye on the plot. 4 stars..

The Bachelorette Party was not very good, The Accident could also been a better book, but The Furies was extremely good!

I've just finished reading a nonfiction book, We Carry Their Bones: The Search for Justice at the Dozier School for Boys by Erin Kimmerle. If you've read Colson Whitehead's The Nickel Boys, you'll recognize the name. So good, but now it's back to a light read.

David Grann of 'The New Yorker' wrote Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI. I am still furious about this case, as I'm sure most readers would be.

I loved that book. His other books are really good as well.

It took awhile for that series to grow on my but I love it now.

I immediately opened Leviathan Falls back up. Not ready to end this series.

Seymour of the Yard #5. It's 1912 and a prominent English businessman has died in prison in Barcelona. Mr. Seymour is dispatched by Scotland Yard to find out why he was in prison and why he died. As you can imagine the case becomes a bit complicated. This is a well-done entertaining entry in the series, I liked it.

A good addition to this series: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Late last night I finished reading Nightcrawling by Leila Mottley. Started out very strong, but somewhere along the line it started to falter. However, the author is very young and I'm sure her writing will become more developed as time goes on. I'm thinking a 3.5 or somewhere between 3 and 3.5. I'm in Philadelphia airport on my way home, so it will be tomorrow or Wednesday before I can post about it.
by the way, I'm not going to keep this book, so if anyone in the US would like it, I'm happy to give it to you.
