What Have You Purchased - 2022

She's a primary school teacher/Masterchef contestant/food educator who makes things really simple to understand and fun (would be perfect for kids) and the food is delicious.
We've been getting a farmers box each week straight from farms within 300km radius from us this winter, and it's been my first point of call every time I pull something out of the box and go "What on earth is/do I do with this?" (Looking at you Swedes and Sorrel.)

Seveneves and
Different Seasons
I haven't read the King book in over 30 years, hope it works as well on audio.

In order to get that coupon, I had to spend $10 on ebooks throught Amazon, and I got Sea of Tranquility.

I recently read Sea of Tranquility. An interesting book. I’d like to know what you think of it when you’ve finished it.

I saw that the cookbook is available through kindle unlimited so I may have to check it out soon.

I was over visiting my daughter last night and she told me that she had purchased Sea of Tranquility from. I cannot listen to it until she finishes though. ;o)

Brat: An '80s Story
The Bone Box
A Cat Was Involved
Tail of Vengeance
Little Lies
The Academy
Ricochet Joe
Evidence of the Affair
No-Nonsense Buddhism for Beginners
Small Things Like These
The total was just $12 and I had a $7 coupon, so for $5 I got a handful of books that are just the right length to listen to in the car when Craig and I have somewhere to drive.

The Thief of Always
Elevation
Tin Man
Citizen: An American Lyric - which I own in hard copy and I love - but it's poetry so I'd love to hear it spoken
The Witch of Duva
and I picked up the daily deal A Thousand Steps into Night also.
And from chirp I got In the Time of the Butterflies
The Deep
Sorrowland and
The Hummingbirds' Gift: Wonder, Beauty, and Renewal on Wings

I like to listen to poetry too but don’t do it enough these days.

I'll pick up a couple of books in the current "use your credits" sale. I'm just not sure which books I'll be getting. I have a couple of days to decide.

I have a few books in my cart for the "use your credits" sale too. The timing is good for me as I just received my yearly credits. I'll probably grab a few off my wishlist that aren't available through my library (or unlimited or whispersync).

A Dress of Violet Taffeta is the story of Lucy Duff Gordon who was a dressmaker and survived the Titanic. One time that we went to Vegas, there was an exhibition of the Titanic. There were real life replicas of articles as well as some of the steel hull. When we entered, we were given cards with the name of a person who was on the Titanic. The cards gave some information about the person we drew - where they lived, occupation, etc and whether they survived or not. We were to assume that identity during the tour through. I was Lucy Duff Gordon. I've been fascinated with her ever since.

What's Done in Darkness
The Lullaby Man
Bury the Lead
The Secret Life of Albert Entwistle
After We Were Stolen
Fairy Tale (preorder)
I feel like I got a good variety of genres - mystery/thriller, historical fiction, contemporary fiction/romance, fantasy... I should have something to read no matter what mood I'm in. :)
All of these were books that I want to read and don't have available elsewhere. My library will probably get Fairy Tale, but it's one I'd like to have anyway. I should be getting a $20 coupon to make it even sweeter.

I debated about getting What's Done in Darkness. I still have time to get it, and one other book for a $10 coupon. I shall have to think on that a bit.

Janice - you may enjoy The Dressmaker. It is a HF account based on Gordon, I think. I liked it.

A Dress of Violet Ta..."
I read it and it was more about Lucy Duff-Gordon's employee than about her. I just read over my review and it wasn't a glowing one. I likely picked that one up because of it's connection with the Titanic. I hope A Dress of Violet Taffeta is a better story.

I grabbed the same one.

I bought The West End Horror
The Canary Trainer: From the Memoirs of John H. Watson, M.D.
and the newest book: The Return of the Pharaoh: From the Reminiscences of John H. Watson, M.D.

I just got that out of the library fir my mum. Love Midsomer Murders!

I enjoyed the series on Netflix as well. I was reading the reviews for the book on Goodreads and people were saying that they enjoyed the books better. Thankfully the book series is 7 books. I was expecting it to be 20+ judging from the tv series.

Hausfrau
Moxyland
The Cruellest Month (which I already had to stop my mother in law from taking)
Broken Homes
Bangkok 8
And found at the Little Library:
The Constant Rabbit
Paper Towns

Rain of Gold
The Girl in the Spider's Web and
Go Ahead in the Rain: Notes to A Tribe Called Quest (because I needed a book with green letters for a book challenge, lol)
And from chirp I got
Oz: The Complete Collection for $5!
The Hungry Moon and
Herland

The Island of Missing Trees
The Harbor. I realized after I had purchased it, that is #4 in a series. Oops. Oh well mysteries aren't as rigid in series. The backstory will be missing, but hopefully I can glean what happened in the earlier books.
ETA - I looked at the blurbs for the previous books and they each focus on different characters, with the location being the common factor. It should be fine.
