Vagabond Treehouse (2023) [Beware of Chicken 3 - December 4th]
This Discworld thing was me mentioning reading them this year... so there's no thread... I was vaguely considering an appreciation thread... since I didn't know a bunch of people wanted to start from the beginning with me... everyone I know is at different points in the series...
It definitely deserves a thread, tho...
Some people need to read the first book, then I can join for book 2+ (Light Fantastic)...

I think Audible pulled a bunch of the audiobooks because they're re-recording everything for the 50th anniversary: https://www.terrypratchettbooks.com/d...
But I started collecting them a couple years ago... and the final dozen are available on Hoopla, when I get that far... 25+ still seems to be available on Audible...
Any I didn't get, I can always get in "alternative ways" we discussed before... ripped from old CDs...

Physically out of shape, iffy lungs and etc. I'm going to go back to national parks. Be best if I go with less chance of ice. Heh
@Nirkatze: you just need to download some images to your phone or desktop, and then try uploading from your profile... relatively easy... I've done it a few times over the years... also used profile as an image repository for linking in posts... but that's clunky...

The more stuff I turn into BRs, the more cluttered my schedule becomes... Choko is evil like that ;)
Not sure how much time I'll have for Discworld in February, but for now I have the advantage of being 1 book ahead?... like I said, it's a vague 2022 plan for me, until others make it more concrete, I guess...

Death Knight Royan looked around for a bit, then slowly left to search a different area. Even after the Death Knight left, the sound of its horse’s hoof beats could be heard for some time.
“Whew.”
Haha! It is so... unexpected from time to time, I just burst out laughing B-) B-)

The following was the conversation that transpired between Romuna and her parents.
“Bastard Swords deal more damage than Long Swords… Why is that?”
“Because it’s a two-handed sword. It’s big and heavy, so you can’t swing it as fast.”
“So you mean instead of several small hits, it’s one strong hit?”
“Yep.”
“That’s the kind of weapon I want… But the Bastard Sword costs over 10 gold from the shop…”
“Should I buy one for you?”
“Well… I’ll only say this now… But how much do you think we went through raising you? When you were just a baby, we provided you the best food and covered you in the best clothes. Since we care so much about you, we don’t really want to force you to…”
Hahaha!

Hey, Iain, can we push our BR for the Fall of Babel to March? That's when my Audible membership renews.

I'm open to it... mention it in the thread, tho... Frank, from my BR of the first 3 books, is joining us...

I'm starting to try and track all the things I've agreed to... it's probably going to leave Choko perpetually catching up... gotta get my vengeance
:D
Also broke out my old speedup app, so I can listen to books at 2.5x speed that aren't stored on Hoopla/Audible... can only do that at home, tho, since it's a mega battery drain...

LOL - Agincourt will not be a break from dark stories. Yah, Sir Martin needs to die. You'll be surprised by how that happens.

Books 1-12 are on Audible Plus. It's a time travel series. Shall we try it? =D
I'm currently swimming around Audible Plus and noting stuff down for Nirkatze. Hahahaah
Man, I've added 4 audiobooks and have tabs open for several others to look at. XD

Yes? No? Maybe?

Quote - A majestic undead lord of darkness and despair using this tactic cannot be found. He adapted to the environment in accordance to Weed’s Save Your Neck Survival Guide.
😂🤣😂🤣

Action, humor, cool aliens and just enough descriptions to give you an idea of people/aliens/tech.

You are way ahead of me, do you know if the shaman girl he was hunting with for a while and she had to have a life-saving surgery, do you know if they ever meet again?

I can do the Unusual life of Thomas Weaver too:)
Anything Mercedes Lackey...
Hmmm, I am willing to check out The Orson Scott series too, not a priority though...
Always up for Vorkosigan... What am I doing, I am up for any of these...

Nirkatze asked for Audible Plus audiobook book recommendations. That was the list I put together after I searched the Plus catalog to see what's on there. It's a bit of a dig to see what's included or not.
I have a window with a bunch of tabs open for me to see if I want to add them to my current reading pile or wait. XD
Stuff for me to check out that I forgot was on Audible Plur or has been added. lol
I read Agincourt in a day. It was a really easy story to take in! May be one of my favs by Cornwall.

G-d made the French too, but he realized it was a mistake and this is why he sent the English army to deal with them!!! Haha! So horribly bigoted, so totally wrong, but you can totally see Sir John and his contemporaries saying something like that...

Emily, YAY~ Let's do it! When do you want to make time?
I love that we have so many cool buddy reads going on now and totally don't want us all to burn out from being chat-happy. lol
Finished The Trouble with Peace...
Started Relentless... barely started, and things are heating up... and CIA seems clueless...
@Choko: probably gonna read The Last Adventure of Constance Verity tomorrow... put a dent in my library loans...

I do love the author's knowledge of the life of the soldiers during those days... And his understanding of what drove regular folks and nobles to keep on fighting no matter what... I know he is meticulous with his history, so I expect nothing but realistic portrait of that time and I am not disappointed

If you leave the date blank, the book will be noted as read but without a reading start & finished dates.
Easiest way to mark a re-read is to post the book as Currently Reading and it will automatically generate the start date.
