Here is my 4 star review of the contemporary romantic suspense novel: Silver Creek Bodyguard
by Lindsay McKenna.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
In Family Business, S.J. Rozan takes the reader back to a New York City that's untouched by Covid-19. News of the day is the death of Big Brother Choi - the leader of an organized crime unit - and its impact on a huge real estate deal. P.I. Lydia Chin gets hired to serve as bodyguard and community advisor to Choi's heir.

Hi! I am new. I’m learning how this all works. I am reading “The Invisible Life of Addie Larue”. I am loving it so far!
Welcome to the group, Monika! Glad to see you jumping right in and so happy you're loving your current book. :)
Women's words - finally found? Imaginative Aussie author Pip Williams's young character, Esme, wants to put together The Dictionary of Lost Words. Why were all the ignored words for, by, and about women considered dirty? (Many still are.)

i just finished reading Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover and i can’t even begin to describe the impact it had on me! it was the first book by colleen i’ve ever read, and her writing style is insane and beautiful and powerful. as a graphic designer, i really appreciated the way the type was set as well, along with things like scale to really make what she was writing have specific emphasis and impact in places where she felt necessary, and i’m so glad she did.
the characters are extremely emotionally in depth, especially considering the short length of this novel, and the emotions are so raw and heartbreaking and heart…flying! i literally couldn’t put it down since i picked it up, it’s probably the fastest i’ve ever read a book in my life. highly recommend, and if anyone wants to gush about it with me i’m forever open!
I've just finished a thriller which was a five star read for me, The Night Shift by Alex Finlay. So many twists and turns and possible murderers, loved it. Now I'm reading How to Find Your Way Home by Katy Regan.
Here is my 4 star review of Blue Fire
by John Gilstrap.I’ve seen it classified as post-apocalyptic, political thriller, and action thriller among others. Those are all fitting classifications to me. It's shocking, disturbing at times, suspenseful, and definitely pulse accelerating.

Currently reading The Free by Willy Vlautin…starting off very deep and sad, tell me it gets less…sad? I already feel for the characters and want to help them by physically jumping into these scenes.
After a bit of back and forth, I've finally decided on Galore Also with this year being all about starting on my healing journey I am giving Allen Carr’s Easy Way for Women to Quit Smoking a go. Though I'm certainly taking my time with that one. haha
I am reading The Last House on the Street and listening to The Christie Affair. I had big plans for this month. I still hope to read Josh and Gemma Make a Baby, Sundial, and The Man Who Died Twice if I can manage it. .

Busy, busy! But I bet you make it, Kristie. 😉📚📚📚
I loved Aussie author Christian White's latest novel Wild Place. The local Neighbourhood Watch group gets a little too active during the 1989 Christmas holidays when a teen disappears.

Jeffery Deaver's short story, Captivated, is a prequel to his Colter Shaw series. Shaw is using some old-school tactics - actual maps and interviews - to find a missing wife.

I'm reading an ARC of Love & Saffron: A Novel of Friendship, Food, and Love by Kim Fay. Lovely book written in epistolary form. The two women, who have not met, end up becoming good friends.
Here is my 3 star review of a young adult mystery novel: Killing Time
by Brenna Ehrlich.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
This is one of those books you just can't say enought nice things about it. Lovely book. Love & Saffron: A Novel of Friendship, Food, and Love by Kim Fay.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Here is my 3.5 star (rounded to 4 stars) review of The Unveiling of Polly Forrest: A Mystery
by Charlotte Whitney:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
This is a standalone historical fiction / mystery / family drama.
My 4 star review of True Wolf: Sexy, Action-packed Paranormal Romantic Suspense
by Paige Tyler.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Just starting to read A Berry Home Catastrophe
by A.R. Winters the fifth book in this cozy mystery series.
PamG I really liked the book called Hour of Need by Melinda Leigh Dem I read the book called The Night She Disappeared by Lisa Jewell and Moonchild I read Crash & Burn by Lisa Gardner
I finished The Investigator
by John Sandford. This is the first book in a new series by Sandford. It features Letty Davenport as the main character. Overall, this was suspenseful, unsettling, and action packed with compelling characters that kept me turning the pages. With a heart-rending plot, exciting scenes, and fascinating story, it captivated and terrified me. It’s a great start to a series and I’m looking forward to reading more about Letty and her future assignments.

I loved Geographies of the Heart by Caitlin Hamilton Summie. She writes wonderful short stories, but this is her first novel.
4.5~5★ Link to my review of Geographies of the Heart
How disappointing. I have enjoyed many of Aussie author Di Morrissey's historical fiction novels, but this contemporary one, Before the Storm, seems embarrassingly amaeurish as well as preachy. Could do better.
2.5★ Link to my review of Before the Storm
I finished The Christie Affair yesterday. I was really torn between 3 and 4 stars on this one. I may still change my mind. I listened to the audio with my husband and he is giving it 5 stars, so I don't know... maybe it's just me. I'll think on it and see how I feel in a couple of days.
my Christie Affair review
I just finished All the Queen's Men by S.J. Bennett which was a good read. It's the second in a series and I loved the first one too, The Windsor Knot. Queen Elizabeth & her personal aid Rozie do a little detecting.
I knew nothing about Letters to Camondo or Edmund de Waal, but just happened upon this fascinating biography, written as letters to "you", Count Moïse de Camondo, who lived in Paris during WWII.
4.5★ Link to my review of Letters to Camondo with a few photos and a link to more
I just started a cozy mystery, A Christmas Quilt to Die For. I optomistically bought it before Christmas but never got around to reading it.
Milk Street Fast and Slow: Instant Pot Cooking at the Speed You Need by Christopher Kimball, formerly with America's Test Kitchen. Part of my January challenge to use my new Instant Pot.My review - www.Goodreads.com/review/show/4519081502
I have missed Mick Herron's spies, the Slow Horses. These two novellas slot neatly into his much-loved Slough House series but can be enjoyed together without reading the rest. The List is #2.5 and shows John Bachelor doing 'the milk run', babysitting retired, elderly spooks. Tricky!
4.5★ My review of The ListThe Drop is #5.5 and follows the action from The List. Old-school tricks are recognised by old-school spooks!
4.5★ My review of The DropThese are also available as a single book.
The Drop & The List
Since I am trying to read books that I already own, I'm now reading Picnic at Hanging Rock by Joan Lindsay. I purchased this book used probably about 20 years ago.
I finished an urban fantasy/supernatural suspense novel yesterday"Brimstone Bound
by Helen Harper.My 4 star review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
