Hello Cintia,
I confess this is a situation I've never struggled with. I think I may have more ideas for books than the opportunity to write them. But, I do have a suggestion. I'm not sure what genre you want to write in (and if you're not sure, that's a good place to start). Whatever genre, find a subject you're passionate about. Ask yourself this, if you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would you want that book to be about? Then write it. Hope that helps.
Best,

In historical fiction, more than in any other genre, I think it’s really easy to fall back on what appears to be the most popular characters and time period of the moment…the Tudors and Eleanor of Aquitaine jump to mind. Only write about them if that’s what you are truly passionate about, not because you think that’s what you have to write to make it in the genre. What’s popular in any given moment, in this industry, can change with the quickness of a heartbeat. Write an outstanding book and they will read it.(less)

FANTASY…FROM AN AWARD-WINNING HISTORICAL NOVELIST? UM, WHAT?

It’s a good question, one deserving a bit of skepticism. If you’ll allow me to share a couple of points of interest, I may just turn your incredulity into excited acceptance.
BIRTH: Once, Upon a New Time Book One is, in fact, the very first novel I ever wrote…twenty-eight years ago while carrying my first child. Back then, it was all one book rather than a trilogy, and it was over eight hundred... Read more of this blog post »

Gilded Summers by Donna Russo Morin
"Good book

I really enjoyed this book. If I could go back in time and live, I would certainly pick the Gilded age. I love to read about the Vanderbilts, the Carnegie’s and all the other families that did so much for our country building the railroad..." Read more of this review »

"4 star

I have mixed feelings on the time shift and it could use a touch more polish, but I really liked the characters."
