Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I loved Emma Donoghue's powerful new novel, Haven and, when narrated by Aiden Kelly, it is even better in audio. Kelly really does this brilliant novel justice. 5★s

Carolyn | 9836 comments My review of debut novel Gemini Falls by Sean Wilson Gemini Falls by AA Sean Wilson, an engrossing murder mystery set in the 1930s during the Great Depression and the polio epidemic in a small Australian rural town. Told from the point of view of a thirteen year old boy, it's also a coming of age story and a tale of dysfunctional families.

Sarah | 1543 comments Here's my (horribly belated) review of A Tidy Ending by Joanna Cannon. I was granted an audiobook edition for review by NetGalley UK. The narration by Lissa Berry was superb. This was such a fun read/listen - writing the review has made me want to go back and listen to the whole story again!

Carolyn | 9836 comments I struggled a bit with one of the themes in this one, which is about a mother whose child has been missing for six years, but it might appeal more to others who enjoy psychological suspense.

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments I wish all books written for young people were as appealing as Blueback is to readers of any age. Much-awarded Aussie author Tim Winton knows exactly how to talk to kids, without talking down, when describing his beloved coast and its precious underwater world.

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments It's impossible to figure out who all The Liars are in Aussie author Petronella McGovern's new small town mystery. From colonial crimes to more recent rapes and disappearances, it seems nobody is safe and anybody could be under suspicion.

Not a bad historical fiction, but I expected a lot more. If the idea of magic + WWII interests you, this is the book for it.
