4.5 stars for this excellent historical fiction by an Aussie Author
The Last of the Apple Blossom by Mary-Lou StephensMy review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I know the ambiguous ending of Sally Hepworth's latest novel, The Younger Wife, exercised some reviewers, but I loved it. My first by this author, not my last!5★s

How to Spot a Psychopath is a fairly impressive debut novel by M.Q. Webb: 3.5★s and I'm interested to read #2.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Dinner Sorted! is another cute and funny book by Aussie comedian Jimmy Rees, for kids (and their parents).4★s

A new favourite Aussie thriller for my bookshelf! If you need more than my enthusiasm, Lee Child called Michael Trant's latest novel, Wild Dogs "Tough, fast and hard – my kind of book." It is also a completely authentic, Aussie outback story. I'm with Lee on this one.
5★ My review of Wild Dogs
Mad About You by Mhairi McFarlane.
This didn't quite work out as I had expected but it spotlights some important issues. 3.25 stars.

This is a lovely memoir of life with a Llama on a small Welsh farm in the 1970s
Along Came a Llama by Ruth Janette Ruckreview: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Readers who enjoy a cosy mystery should grab Fifty-Four Pigs: A Dr. Bannerman Vet Mystery by Canadian vet and author, Philipp Schott. A quirky vet protagonist and a clever dog make this a very entertaining first book of hopefully many in the series. 5★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I couldn't resist sharing some of the verse and illustrations after enjoying a re-read of Madeline, the much-loved picture book and poem from 1939 by Ludwig Bemelmans. I can't recite all of it anymore, but I'm surprised how much I remember."In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines lived twelve little girls in two straight lines. . ."
5★ My revisit to Paris with Madeline
Scheme is a short story by Jeffery Deaver, a quick read with a nice twist, Read Now on NG until 28/4. 4.5★s

Here's my review of Arthur W. Upfield's 1929 mystery-thriller The Barrakee Mystery, an early example of quality Australian crime writing. A great read, but also troubling in its historically accurate depictions of treatment of and attitudes towards indigenous Australians.
