Rosh ~catching up slowly~ (roshreviews) | 708 comments Completed "The Nurse" by Claire Allan.
The Nurse by Claire Allan
Don't go by the bland cover and title. It is a very dark and disturbing read, though it could have worked even better with tighter editing.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments Edwina Wren's rendition of the audio version of Sophie Green's latest, Thursdays at Orange Blossom House, really does this wonderful novel justice.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments Dipping into a series for the first time at #31? Turns out, when the author is the very talented Donna Leon and the series, Commissario Brunetti, you can, easily, without feeling lost. The drawback is getting hooked on yet another series, starting at #1, of course (sigh). 5★s for Give Unto Others

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments It Should Have Been Me by Susan Wilkins is excellent British crime fiction: a page-turner that keeps you guessing right up to the final chapters.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments Suzanne Fortin's dual timeline novel, The Forgotten Life of Arthur Pettinger: absolutely heartbreaking World War 2 historical fiction is a wonderful love story: funny, sad and ultimately heart-warming. Anne McCaffery's narration is excellent, but have the tissues ready...

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments I finally started the Brother Cadfael historical mystery series by Ellis Peters ( aka Edith Pargeter ), and I grew quite fond of this canny, medieval monk in Book 1, A Morbid Taste for Bones. I will be reading more!

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments I just finished the first of Robert Dugoni's Tracy Crosswhite series, My Sister's Grave. Twenty years after her sister disappeared, detective Tracy Crosswhite is told they've found her bones. Mixed feelings about this one.

Rosh ~catching up slowly~ (roshreviews) | 708 comments Loved "The Cartographers" by Peng Shepherd despite certain shortcomings in the plotline. It was a very imaginative plot and provided ample surprises along the way. 4.25 stars from me.
