Hi. Just checking in. I’m trying to find short books for completing some cards. Does non-fiction counts?I’m sorry to be so inactive this round. My mental health is not really good these days. Tired of this world’s BS.
Have a good week.
Hi Ana, yes non fiction counts. Make sure you are at 100 pages or 3hours for audiobooks. Hopefully your able to start feeling better soon.

Hi All, Happy Friday!
I was just checking msg 14 and the team tracker. It looks as if we have the following colored cards still to tackle:
-Blue 4
-Yellow 7 (we need two of these)
-Yellow 5
-Green 4
I'm going to see if I have a book that will work for a Yellow 7 that I can knock out this weekend.
Otherwise I have I believe I have mainly reads that will meet requirements for "3"s
I have two ARCs and a regular read. I've added them to the SS.
Let me know if I'm missing anything with the colored cards. I don't want to duplicate efforts.
Thanks!
Alyana wrote: "I'm reading a yellow 5 right now. I should finish this later today."Thanks! I'll look for a Yellow 7 then. I have one on hold at my library. I'm hoping it comes in on Monday.

Hi everyone, Sorry to have disappeared. Work got really hectic for a bit, and I've taken on some new projects that are a little overwhelming. Regardless, I've still been reading, and will update the SS tomorrow morning (about 10 hours from now).

I found a book that should work for a Yellow 7. I was able to find a copy of Abby Jimenez’s Life’s Too Short. This was one I’ve been looking at anyway and has popped off and on my TBR. It should be a fun read. The blurb looked good and the rating was decent. I’ve got to pick up some other holds at the library tomorrow morning along with this one.

Kristen, I need to check to see if The Ghostwriter has enough Yellow to count.
We have two 7 Yellow, one 4 Green, and two WD4 cards. We can't use 2 Red for WD4, other than that, all cards are game.
Great job, everyone!
Hi team,Take a minute to look over the over the mini for March. Here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Here are the basic rules. I'm going to be doing some moving around on our SS later today and tomorrow to try and make sure we have what we need open for the challenge. Please let me know if you have any questions. Just so everyone knows I'll be traveling for work next week and will only have my phone so will be less active.
Perky House Decorating! March Mini Challenge
This is an optional mini challenge for our UNO players. You've built the house of your dreams, now it is time to decorate it!!
◈ You can mix and match from the below task options, whatever you choose is a maximum of 45 tasks (i.e. books read).
◈ You must choose a minimum of 10 tasks from each of the four categories. This means that if doing the maximum 45 tasks you would have 10 from each category and then 5 of your choice. If doing less than the maximum, for example, you only do 27 tasks, then you would need to have 10 each from 2 categories and 7 from another.
◈ Each book read can only be used for one task.
◈ If you complete all your decorations (45 tasks), your team will receive 30 bonus points.
1. Paint the walls
◈ Read books with one of the below colours as the:
>Cover of the book ; 15 points each ; or
>Colour of text on cover ; 10 points each; or
>Colour word found in text ; 5 points each.
Colours to choose from:
Orange
Purple
Pink
Black
White
Brown
Grey
2. Hang some paintings - 15 points each
◈ Read books where the cover could be a classical painting (no need to get mod approval, but if you need inspiration on what is classical, here is a good guide: https://www.toperfect.com/Classical-P...).
◈ Read books where the cover could be a Fantasy painting (as above, no approval required, but this is a good guide: https://www.toperfect.com/Fantasy-Pai...)
3. Showcase your fancy travel souvenirs - 10 points each
◈ Read books set in any real country except Canada, USA, England, Australia and New Zealand.
(to be clear, absolutely no part of the book can be set in these 5 countries, and the setting must be a country on planet Earth and not a fictional/fantasy country)
4. Swap some flower cuttings with your neighbour - double the card points value (for example, 40 points instead of the 20 points for a 0-9 card, or 60 points instead of 30 for a 0-9 coloured card)
◈ Use any 6 card in your March hands for X instead of S
◈ Use any 2 card in your March hands for W instead of T
◈ Use any SKIP card in your March hands for Q instead of K or P
All books used for the mini need to be finished after this countdown finishes: https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...

Hey Insiyah,
The Ghostwriter was on the yellow card link. I saw others used it and it was approved.
I've added a column to our tracking SS that you can use to track how your books work for the mini. Please remember only books finished after the mini starts will count.
Wow this month's mini is a little tricky! 😁Also, the links for classical and fantasy paintings are invalid.

Hi!
I've updated all my reads for March and checked my Uno Read shelf. They should all be showing right now.
Please let me know if any are still missing.
Thanks!

Question on the setting - would territories count? Thinking of the US and British VI, Guam, Puerto Rico. I think the UK still has some ownership over some of the Channel Islands.
Also - to be super nit picky - ENGLAND - is this truly ENGLAND only or is it all of the UK and if it is UK is it British Crown UK? Asking as I have books set in Scotland, Wales, and non British Crown Ireland on my shelves.
Looking over my TBR for March I have the following for the X, W, and Q tasks in the Mini: Ws - 5 books:
Qs - 3 books
For Foreign Places - I have
which is set in Ireland (hence my PIMA question) and
Kristen and Maggie - noted. I'll update the SS tomorrow (it's 11.30 at night here). Maggie, the wording is exactly it, according to the mods. It's exactly these 5 countries. Their colonies, etc. don't count, aka those places work fine. Scotland, Wales and Ireland are valid places for the tasks as well.
I need to check if non-fictions based in a country count. If so, I have one in India, and three fictions based in Germany, Italy, and Greece.Edit: Non-fictions do count.
I've added a sheet to the SS for our tracking. Post here if you're claiming any tasks as well.

Annalisa wrote: "◈ Read books set in any real country except Canada, USA, England, Australia and New Zealand."Does it have to be the whole book is set on a country except for these five? Or half of it would work? Like, it started in the US and then she moved to Puerto Rico?
Also since we have a Blue 2 we can use
For the Mini Challenge in Part Four and get 60 points?
Since it’s a Blue Cover and 2 for the Character Werner
Let me know and I’ll plug her in.
March Mini Part Four:14 Spots Needed
Cards We Have That Fit:
Red 2 - Red W (60 Points) 1 Card
Yellow 6 - Yellow X (60 Points) 1 Card
Skip - Q (50 Points) 7 Cards
2 - W (40 Points) 8 Cards
6 - X (40 Points) 7 Cards
Total Cards: 24
I suggest we fill the two color cards, then the seven Skips, and finish up with five 2 and/or 6 cards.
Hopefully this makes sense for everyone because I was confused at first!

Thank you! For both things :-)
He's doing better. Luckily he was the only one to get sick. I had some asthma issues, but the other three of us remained COVID negative. It just meant quarantining from my family which was sad as we missed my nephew's first birthday, but my mom is super high risk and is still recovering from having COVID and antibody infusion treatment for it back in January. She and her health come first for all of us. She's now calling us "The House of Plague" but she's also been calling my kiddo every day to "see who has the scratchier voice" and then to talk to our daughter about how high school is going and how the daughter can toe lines in classes while still remain a "good" student. LOL
