We've had several latecomers requesting to be added this month, so instead of waiting for repicks I'm going to go ahead and have them pick for each other. Since this is a little out of the ordinary and time is somewhat short, I'll send PMs to everyone to be sure they're aware.
So, for the people below, please pick for the person below you in the list, and the last person picks for the first.
Maddielucy(Patti)
Rachel
Sabrina
Billy
Remember to pick a minimum of four NEW books and four from your pickee's TBR or preferred shelf. Please limit your picks to no more than two for each rule, since sometimes too many choices can be as bad as too few!

Happy reading!

Sorry I am little late to the game with your picks. Happy New Year! And I hope you enjoy these books.
S. Africa - Archers Voice by Mia Sheridan
This was my favorite read of 2021. It involves both main characters suffering/recovery from physical and mental traumas.
Columbia - People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry
This was another great read and involves lots of road trips and traveling. I also saw it’s on your TBR, I loved it and hope you do too!
Italy - Kingdom of the Cursed by Kerri Maniscalco
This one is set in Italy however it’s a bit more fantasy than romance however if you enjoy this one, book two has lots of romance!! I saw that you’ve read fantasy so you might enjoy this one.
Denmark - The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
This iS more of an Enemy to lovers than a friends to lovers trope. But it’s on your TBR as well!
As far as books on your TBR that aren’t apart of the pick rules, I really enjoyed The Legacy by Elle Kennedy. And Anything Colleen Hoover. I really enjoyed Ugly Love.

So many choices! I can't wait! Thank you girl!

Happy New Year! Here’s your list!
Spain
- The Spanish Love Deception
Ireland
- Normal People
Denmark
- You’ve Reached Sam by Dustin Thao

Hi Nancy!
I finished First Dance from your list for me. It was a cute start to the series. Thank you for the pick! I hope to get to one or two more this month, but if not, I added several of your new to me picks to my tbr- they look really good!

Hi Samantha,
I finished The Submissive. I really enjoyed it. I'm going to try and get to more, but I was so intrigued with this one that I'm going to start the next one in the series right away :)

Thank you for my wonderful picks this month. I got to several of them. I didn't get to all of them because of other challenge requirements (read, Scavenger Hunt Roses) but I have added them all to my lists.
Here are the books I did get to this month:

This was cute. Blue's family was crazy. Tristan's made me sad a little bit. I love all the shenanigans the old ladies got up to. I hope to be a hellraiser like that when I'm old!
But, I was intrigued from the first moment. How Blue (or Tristan for that matter) thought that I guy could make out with a random man in a bar just to help out is beyond me. But, I was happy that things worked. out. Tristan broke my heart when he revealed why he pushed down his feelings for so long.
The only thing I didn't like with this one was the fact that there was only a passing mention of Simone when all the sh!t hit the fan. I would have liked her to have more to say with that one. But, I guess they had enough girl cooties in this book, the author didn't want to add more.
The narrator did a pretty good job with this one although there were times when I couldn't tell who's POV we were in Blue or Tristan because the voices were exactly the same. But that really is my only complaint. He had me cracking up when he was laughing during the narration. It seemed so authentic. Maybe he was getting a kick out of the book too!

This was such a surprise. I didn't expect to be rooting for Hugh d'Ambray of all people but here I was rooting for him and this new family he's forged. I was definitely an Elara fan though. She was completely kick ass and I loved that she's didn't take any crap form Hugh! I loved the way this weaved into one of my all-time favorite series Kate Daniels and I am looking forward to more in this series for sure.

For some reason this one took me a while to get into, but I got into it, it was great. I really love these characters. And the strong heroines each story features have been great. I'm looking forward to continuing with this one and feel really stupid for being so late to party with these books!

This was so sweet, I thought my heart would explode. Milo and Jason make an unlikely pair but there's no way anyone would be able to resist Milo. And Jason started growing on me although in the beginning I wanted to really help remove that stick he had lodged in his you know where.
But Milo...he really made this story for me. Oh my goodness. Such a sweet man and he was funny and intuitive and like Jason said he could throw shade without even trying.
I had stepped away from this series for a while. I'll have to get back to it because I forgot how much I enjoy Mad Creek.

I LOVED Penelope! Such a great heroine! This was such a great story and while I didn't expect to come around to Bourne's side, he did grow on me. But Penelope definitely stole the show for me. There were more spicy moments than I expected in this book too. That scene when there we in the gambling club looking down on all the patrons...YOWZA! I will definitely be continuing on with this series at some point. Thanks for the suggestion!
I was hoping to get a couple more but Bachelor took me away. But overall, I had a great reading month and I thank you for the picks!!!

I am so glad you enjoyed them! I know exactly what you mean about Hugh - it was so hard to visualize hime as a hero, but they pulled it off. I might need to add more of these to my reread list...

I was able to read 8 of my picks - which is amazing considering how slow the month started! There were more added to my list, but I had to try to get my M&G books read first. 😊
Lover Mine by J.R. Ward 1.6.2022 - I love this series, but rereads are necessary because this series is so complicated!
Murder in the East End by Jennifer Ashley 1.7.2022 - I'm really enjoying this series, different but so good!
The Duke's Perfect Wife by Jennifer Ashley 1.10.2022 - Loved this one!
Under the Whispering Door by T.J. Klune 1.16.2022 - This book GUTTED me! I listened to the end of it in bed one night and hubby was already asleep. So there I am ugly crying and trying to do it silently. I don't know what it touched in me, but it touched it hard! I don't want to say it was as good as The House in the Cerulean Sea, because that book made me happy - but it's nearly as good but it a very different way.
The Mane Event by Shelly Laurenston 1.24.2022 - This is just plain fun!
The Family You Make by Jill Shalvis 1.26.2022 - I loved this book! It stuck with me after I read it and when I think about it, I smile. I can't wait to see what is coming next in Sunrise Cove!
Getting Real by Emma Chase 1.27.2022 - Another really good one!
Lover Unleashed by J.R. Ward 1.28.2022 - I had forgotten so much of this story - it was so good!
Thank you so much for the great picks for January!!

New Year's Celebrations Around the World
Spain – In Spain, locals will eat exactly 12 grapes at the stroke of midnight to honor a tradition that started in the late 19th century. Back in the 1800s, vine growers in the Alicante area came up with this tradition as a means of selling more grapes toward the end of the year, but the sweet celebration quickly caught on. Today, Spaniards enjoy eating one grape for each of the first 12 bell strikes after midnight in the hopes that this will bring about a year of good fortune and prosperity.
🥂 Recommend a book set in Spain, OR a book with a storyline or character connected to the Food industry, OR with a round object on the cover.
The Friend Zone-
Sugarcoated -
Scotland – In Scotland, the day before January 1 is so important that there's even an official name for it: Hogmanay. On this day, the Scottish observe many traditions, but easily one of their most famous is first footing. According to Scottish beliefs, the first person who crosses through the threshold of your house after midnight on New Year's Day should be a dark-haired male if you wish to have good luck in the coming year. Traditionally, these men come bearing gifts of coal, salt, shortbread, and whiskey, all of which further contribute to the idea of having good fortune.
🥳 Recommend a book set in the UK, or with a dark haired man on cover
SVU Surveillance-
Laird of the Most
Brazil – If you happen to be in Brazil for New Year's Eve, don't be surprised to find the oceans littered with white flowers and candles. In the South American country, it is commonplace for citizens to take to the shores on New Year's Eve in order to make offerings to Yemoja, a major water deity who is said to control the seas, to elicit her blessings for the year to come.
🥂 Recommend a book set in Brazil, or with a mostly white cover or flowers on cover
Jagged -
Pinch of Sugar
Italy – Italians have a tradition of wearing red underwear to ring in the new year. In Italian culture, the color red is associated with fertility, and so people wear it under their clothes in the hopes that it will help them conceive in the coming year.
🥳 Recommend a book set in Italy, OR with a partially unclothed cover model, OR with a pregnancy or child in the story.
Faes captive -
Storm -
Denmark – In Denmark, people take pride in the number of broken dishes outside of their door by the end of New Year's Eve. It's a Danish tradition to throw china at your friends' and neighbors' front doors on New Year's Eve—some say it's a means of leaving any aggression and ill-will behind before the New Year begins—and it is said that the bigger your pile of broken dishes, the more friends you have and the more luck you will have in the upcoming year.
🥂 Recommend a book set in a Nordic country (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland), OR a friends to lovers storyline OR with a close group of friends in storyline.
Revved
Love Letter to Whiskey-
Russia – In Russian culture, it is New Year's Eve tradition for folks to write their wishes down on a piece of paper, burn them with a candle, and drink the subsequent ashes in a glass of champagne.
🥳 Recommend a book set in Russia, or with a flame or other light source or the colors yellow or orange on the cover, OR with a word/words in the title or series name that indicate(s) heat or fire.
Trial by Fire
Miss Mechanic-
Colombia –In Colombia, people take empty suitcases and run around the block as fast as they can. It's supposed to guarantee a year filled with travel.
🥂 Recommend a book set in Colombia, or that includes a road trip or other travel, or that is set in a country other than your own.
Lessons in Corruption -
South Africa: Some South Africans—particularly those in the neighborhood of Hillbrow in Johannesburg— take cleaning house for the new year to an entirely new level. Throwing old furniture and appliances (think fridges!) from the windows of tall buildings somehow helps to make the new year bright. It’s actually a very serious health hazard there!
🥳 Recommend a book set in Africa, or that has some sort of furniture on cover, or with a character that is suffering (or recovering) from an illness or injury.
