Just completed #7 (onomatopoeia in title - whisper) - Under the Whispering Door by T. J. Klune. Brilliant and charming, exactly what I’ve come to expect from this author! But there’s always an exploration of the goodness in the world, if we choose to see it, and this book does not disappoint. There were hilarious moments and ones that had me tearing up. Loved the characters and diversity! Definitely worth reading! 5 stars
4/50

6/50 Every Heart a Doorway for a character on the ace spectrum. I had a hard time deciding which prompt to use this one for because it fits more than one. I liked this one but it was certainly different from what I normally read. I may even continue the series.

Just completed #40 (previous pop prompt - different country) - Amal Unbound by Aisha Saeed. Well-written middle grade! Doesn’t shy away from a hard subject matter but also includes the joy in life as well. Loved the characters and the descriptions of Pakistan. Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars

Just completed #25 (book about a secret) - These Deadly Games by Diana Urban. I was not expecting this ya thriller that started with video games to turn into a complex, twisty and dark suspense ride! Loved every minute! Really enjoyed the characters and the questions raised about guilt, accident, fault, trauma, and revenge. I received this book as a free giveaway in e change for my honest review. Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars

39. An #OwnVoices SFF (science fiction and fantasy) book - Jade Legacy read 1/10/2022

Just completed #42 (two languages) - Castle Dor by Daphne du Maurier and Arthur Quiller-Couch. I wonder how this novel would have turned out if it was solely written by Du Maurier and not a continuation of Quiller-Couch. I found the concept intriguing and certain parts were quite clear and direct. Other sections it was like reading through fog. However, overall, it was an enjoyable read. But one I would recommend only for die hard fans. 3 stars
